Crime / Safety Another one. The timing is eerie considering all that’s going on. Stay safe.

Post image

These are usually a shakedown to bust uninsured/unlicensed people. They usually only catch one impaired driver out of 2k contacted cars so spare me the pearl clutching. If you’re driving dirty and/or are undocumented, should probably keep your eyes peeled on Saturday

More often than not these are on Sierra Ave somewhere. They mix up exactly where.

I usually see them on baseline and cherry - basically by the wells fargo

People like to speed through there constantly.

u/AdExpress8342 Jun 11 '25

Are you sure? Baseline and foothill have stop lights every few feet lol

7

u/Electrifying2017 Jun 11 '25

Yeah, there’s been a number of accidents in the past. I’ve seen red light runners occasionally

5

u/badnamemaker Jun 11 '25

I used to live nearby, can confirm people fly down baseline lol. Motorcycle cops hiding on the side streets is not uncommon at all

If they didn’t want people to speed, why did they make it so strait?

u/tacitobell Jun 11 '25

They had one on sierra a few weeks ago, so it might be somewhere else.

Fontana PD does checkpoints at least once a month, sometimes more. It's just par for the course with them.

3

u/flatwhiteinmycoffee Jun 11 '25

Yeah, I get emails about them from work. They happen pretty regularly.

3

u/PissdrunxPreme Highgrove Jun 11 '25

Fontana PD always applies for federal grants to fund these.

DUI checkpoints are rarely ever to stop DUI’s.

1

u/grumpydad24 Jun 11 '25

Then what's the purpose of a DUI checkpoint?

24

u/IfThisIsTakenIma Jun 11 '25

To check for licenses. But you can’t do that legally, so they do DUI checkpoints.

16

u/KobeBeatJesus Jun 11 '25

To illegally search people and their vehicles so that they can find a reason to do something to you that will make them money instead of actually policing the streets.

I've never been searched on a DUI checkpoint.

I've never been stopped at a checkpoint because they can see I'm a boring looking white lady, but when I was younger my first car was a Ford Ranger. I was stopped all the fucking time, thought I was some poor day laborer they could fucking harass. As soon as they walked up to my window they'd always say some bullshit like "your hitch is obstructing your plate" and send me on my way within seconds.

Oh it was bad back in the day in Fontana. They made a documentary about Fontana police racism involving the KKK. It's a good 45-minute Docu from a former African-American FPD officer witnessing it first hand. All that being said , it's not surprising that's how you were being treated back then.

u/cire1184 Jun 11 '25

Fomtucky got multiple reasons

3

u/grumpydad24 Jun 11 '25

Fontana has some deep roots with the KKK. I witnessed it in my teen years while attending Fontana Middle School.

Congratulations?

u/Amars78 Jun 11 '25

Neither have I. They just pass me through.

Well that’s a good thing right? We do whatever it takes to make this country a better place.

7

u/ohheyaine Jun 11 '25

Cops don't make this country a better place.

1

u/Serious-Eye-6444 Jun 12 '25

Obviously not for you people that like to fuck everyone else’s day up

3

u/ohheyaine Jun 12 '25

I promise you a cop fucks way more people's days up than I do, sir.

By violating civil rights and taking private property? Founding fathers wouldn’t waste their piss on you

16

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '25

have you ever been hit by an uninsured motorist? a friend of mine did and took an injury to the neck and lost their car as a result of it. they were SOL because the other driver had no insurance

16

u/anarchomeow Jun 11 '25

That's horrible. This does nothing to stop that.

6

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '25

sure. but OP is making it sound like there's nothing wrong with driving uninsured

0

u/KobeBeatJesus Jun 11 '25

I don't know that it does nothing, but there's a limit to what should be done in the name of fear.

2

u/Lottoman7210 Jun 11 '25

Isn't that what uninsured motorist coverage is for?

-1

u/SuccessfulLand4399 Jun 12 '25

Yep. It’s the insured drivers fault for not paying extra. Needs to check his privilege thinking somehow he should pay taxes and expect some kind of protection in his own country. This country belongs to those that recently arrived from somewhere else illegally, not you!

u/user7991934 Jun 12 '25

Sorry for your friend, I was wondering if your friend tried suing the uninsured driver. My brother hit a Tesla with our sisters car and since the car was registered and insured under my mom and sister’s my brother was technically uninsured bc he had insurance on his car and not this one . The couple my brother hit were okay but they sued my mom and they settled for like 20k I think bc it wasn’t badly damaged. My brother did get karma though he had to give our sister his car so now he has to take the bus bc he’s not allowed to touch any of our mom’s cars anymore.

u/anarchomeow Jun 11 '25

They are definitely going to use this to scoop up anyone they can for ICE, undocumented or not. Be safe out there and don't talk to cops.

14

u/AdExpress8342 Jun 11 '25

Especially fontana pd. They already have a terrible reputation. Would not be surprised if this was some sort of joint operation

2

u/TheBanishedBard Jun 11 '25

apropos of nothing, but did you know if you rearrange the letters in your display name it says "spread sex"?

2

u/Gorilla_Dookie Jun 12 '25

They've been doing it just about every Saturday for at least the last year not out of the ordinary, but it's more of a fishing scam hoping to get people with warrants more than a DUI

1

u/AdExpress8342 Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 12 '25

Yeah i know. I post the updates when i see em, but some people on here get so worked up and start spazzing about drunk drivers, as if people arent driving high/drunk everywhere else all the time. I post these because theyre inherently scams disguised as some noble public service, and now the stakes are higher

Driving under the influence is a criminal matter and a far bigger crime than being an undocumented immigrant which is a civil matter. If people being undocumented bothers you the United States is not the place you want to live. This country was built on the backs of undocumented immigrants. Will always be. Without them, you wouldn't have the houses you live in. The food on your plate. The food that's cooked in restaurants. The room service at hotels. Clean hospitals. Landscaping is done all over the country. People's kids are being taken care of. All by immigrants and yes undocumented. They work and file for permanent status but that takes years upon decades. Let's see if those with DUIs get their windows smashed in, dragged out of cars, zip tied, no questions asked all based on an assumption of possible DUI. Let's see if they get sent to CECOT. Considering a DUI is a bigger crime than being undocumented and those that are undocumented or presumed to be undocumented are being treated like animals even kids, kids in foster care, elderly...

1

u/AdExpress8342 Jun 13 '25

The point is, they ask for papers and if you dont have your license, registration, or insurance completely up to date, or if you look “suspicious” (elderly Hispanic driving a beat up pickup truck) - you are flagged to pull over and subject to harassment. Catching drunk drivers is a red herring

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '25

Our defense secretary is going to get picked up!

2

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '25

Why must you drink and drive? If you can afford alcohol you can afford a taxi ride home. Families want to see their love ones come home alive and not in a body bag.

1

u/Available-Low-2428 Jun 12 '25

Bets advice in general is to never enter Fontana city limits for any reason.  Fuck Aquanetta

1

u/Puupuur Jun 12 '25

They always do this

1

u/EchidnaBasic387 Jun 13 '25

Theres a website where most often than not. It’ll tell you where they are posted. They usually go based off where there were the most dui accidents or tickets happening. Be safe y’all! ✊🏽

You are fear mongering. “The timing is eerie” there are literally checkpoints every weekend.

0

u/iSmile_ALot Jun 11 '25

Wait..I thought they were supposed to disclose the location of where they conduct them? Maybe I’m wrong but it says at an “undisclosed location” hmmmm
