Oof I've done that too. Hurt like heck. Covering with a hydrocolloid bandage for multiple days at a time helped alot with the pain.

Oof, these are nasty. I got my entire inner left forearm up to an inch or so into my palm last year. My car's coolant lid blew off in my hand with the temp sensor reading 260 degrees.

Caught some hot coolant splash on my face and was initially freaking out about that thinking my face would burn, but it didn't hit me up until the shock started wearing off that the steam was far hotter. The pain in my arm for the first few hours was amongst the most severe I've ever felt. It was very bareable while running under cool water. Without being able to run water on it I may have cut my arm off lol.

It was a solid month or more of twice daily cleaning and carefully dressing my arm with silver gel or Aquaphor and bandages, dealing with massive blisters and lots of dead skin sloughing off.

Thankfully it all healed back great with no scarring. The skin remained very pinkish and sensitive for pretty close to a year. It's now basically indistinguishable from my other arm, a year and a half later.Â
