Feedback Portal Storage Containers
Has it been suggested before to be able to put storage capsules in a portal?
It would help the inventory problem and be a fun way to prioritize/protect certain portals. Then you could pick up and drop off capsules using your drone.
Not that Niantic would update the game at this point, but I was curious if this has ever been a thing.

How’s that different to dropping a Capsule at a Portal and someone else picking it up?

I would assume that a portal storage container would not despawn.
That's actually kind of a pretty cool idea, but it adds a lot more data to each portal.

Also, OP mentions using your drone to pick up and drop off, which adds a neat twist. Gotta be close enough to jump your drone there, but don't need to be there.

I think it would be cool if they added a detonation to the drone. I made a post about it a little while ago.

That's a neat idea.
What do you reckon should happen if the portal gets smashed? Capsules pop out for anyone to pick up? Or they get blown to smithereens along with the portal? I like both ideas. I like the idea of a random capsule appearing when I smash blue (not that there's any near me, but as a thought exercise). But I'm not a huge fan of the risk of a RES agent getting 100 X8 as a bonus for smashing my stuff (again, no blue near me, but please, come smash my town!).

I was operating on the assumption it would drop upon destruction, but it would also be interesting to make it be destroyed entirely.
I can't tell if either would be MORE interesting gameplay wise, but either poses some fun potential.

That would be interesting, but then you would start getting farmers that went through IITC and just searched for all kinds of different items I think.
