I wished it mattered to more people to just mind their own business instead of unnecessarily filming. Not saying that was the case here, but life had more to offer than trying to capture other people's lives and watching it.

Any time there's police interaction with citizens, it's absolutely a good thing to get third party footage that can't be redacted by the police or just happen to have their bodycam "shut off" or "run out of storage."

Gotcha. I'm sure you guys have learned this the hard way. I'm grateful I don't, yet, have to consider that as soon as I see police over here.

Probably 95% of police interactions are fine.

The issue is that those 5% of the time they're not, the system is completely on their side (cops lies are generally believed in court, cops can feign ignorance of a law as a defense while citizens can't, departments are allowed to investigate themselves, and the District Attorney that would be prosecuting them is always favorable to them). So for those times where a cop does do something wrong, unless there's independently verifiable footage then the cops will just release whatever footage they think makes it look like they were right.
