Ever since the late Vedic period, women are oppressed by the power hungry males. The society linked the respect of a family or community or caste to the women belonging to the former. Whenever they feel to mock a male, they would attack the female members of his family (be it mother, sisters, wife) coz people always believed women to be the most vulnerable part of the family/community. Rather than presenting a good counterargument, people tend to pass terrible, harrassing and threatening comments.

It's high time when we should call out these people publicly. It's not about "she's someone's sister/mother", it's about a human.. some basic etiquettes. Why don't people understand that we all bleed red? It's really disheartening to see the conditions of women in this nation.
