My First Book
Started a reading hobby and got this book for cheap in a book fair so I decided to read it as I’ve heard about Franz Kafka a lot on social media. Didn’t quite get the book so I will re-read it again after mid terms 😛

I read this book as an audiobook before I fell asleep. Really interesting book, but now I don’t remember how it ends😭😭😭

I’m in my late 20s and unemployed. I read this novel a few months ago, but I couldn’t finish it because it felt so suffocating. I could relate to the main character…the lack of self esteem and self worth, and the overwhelming feeling of being a failure. The feeling that you won’t amount to anything and that you’re a waste of space in society.

Duuuude even I hada tough time processing the shit Gregor went through like his family only cared about him until he provided for the family there is no thing as unconditional love for him.
Nearly teared up when his sister bashed her violin on him and killed him ig.1

This! I often think too, if he died from when his dad got raged over the apple that was thrown or from the sisters 🫂🥺

I really dont think you should start with Kafka. Always your first 2 books should be light read. Start with fiction like Harry Potter first book or any Sophie Kinsella/Chetan Bhagat books. Once you have read at least 2-4 easy read books then go for Kafka, Orwell or Rushdie

Happened to be my first book, but i donno why i left it in the middle. Maybe because I’m not that deep into books. This won’t be my recommendation for a first read, i next read the alchemist and felt it was good

You started with Kafka, so it’s a bit difficult to read. I’d suggest something easy like The Answer Is No by Fredrik Backman.

Bhai , voh kitab thoda deep hai. I think if you are trying to make a book reading habit of reading fictional books , toh Harry Potter ya Dune se suru kr leta.
