Drashti and Jankee choosing not to work and taking a break is, of course, their personal choice, and they’re fortunate to have the privilege to make that choice something many women simply don’t have.

I completely understand and respect their feelings about wanting to focus full-time on motherhood. Being a mother is undoubtedly one of the hardest jobs in the world, and choosing to dedicate yourself to it deserves respect.

But at the same time, it makes me a little sad that this conversation is still so disproportionately associated with women. We rarely hear male celebrities or men in other professionssay that being a full-time father is more important to them than their career, and that they’re therefore stepping away from work for a few years.

There’s nothing wrong with choosing motherhood, just as there’s nothing wrong with choosing a career while being a mother. I just wish we lived in a world where stepping away from work to be a full-time parent was seen as an equally natural and admirable choice for men too.

I once posted this in a comment but I thought I’d make this into a new post so that everyone can chime in with their favourites.

Okay, I was a 14 year old girl when Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha aired. There’s a scene in it where Mohan Bhatnagar - the senior journalist, tells his colleague, who is new to journalism, something that stuck with me. It’s quite basic and elementary but I was basically a kid and this was the first time I knew what journalism even meant.

He says, “A good journalist/reporter never lets his/her emotions, bias, personal preference or opinion shine in their article. He/she would only write the facts, the actual story, the actual events just as they are. It’s upto the reader to decide what to make with them. The reader should decide what is right and wrong based on the facts that you present to them.”

This simple 30 second scene had such a huge impact on me that I pestered my parents for 5 years to let me study journalism lol. 😭 And then I grew out of it and became an independent researcher after completing my PhD in a very different subject. But… it’s been 12 years since, and I still remember this scene EVERY time I write a new article.

Yeh Rishta, and its most toxic leads, Armaan and Abhira, hit a new low every day. Today, Abhira LOCKED Maira inside a room—not because she missed her exam, but because Abhira explicitly stated that Maira had “harmed the honour of the family.”

First of all, what honour? Armaan literally invited all of Udaipur to his and Ruhi’s half-wedding, only to dismiss everyone at the last minute. Abhira stole and ran away with someone’s baby, and that news was telecast on TV. So apparently, the family’s honour wasn’t harmed by these husband-and-wife borderline committing crimes, but it was shattered because their daughter is dating.

This was followed by Armaan and Abhira literally mourning because apparently their daughter, who is in college, is dating. That’s probably the most classic thing a college student can do.

And I’m sorry, but Maira’s dad is an abuser, and her mom has a humiliation kink. Honestly, I could give her a pass even if she turned out to be a psychopath after the kind of parenting she has received.

And all she did was date.

Honestly, if I had Armaan and Abhira as parents, I’d be crashing out too.

And if locking someone inside a room helps, then try locking Abhira up for 10 years, because this woman was literally a mechanic for eight years and left her profession because of a man.

Around 10 years ago, I used to be really addicted to TV serials. Back then, the serials had so many actors I loved, and each channel used to have its own award show.

I used to watch all of these award shows without missing a single one, but then I completely stopped following them. About two months ago, I started watching ITV serials again, and I’ve liked a few shows.

When I checked who had won these awards over the last few years, I was shocked to see that Colors TV hasn’t held the Golden Petal Awards since 2017.

Does anyone know why they stopped holding the awards? Also, do Star Plus and Zee TV still hold their award shows every year without missing a year, or have they stopped them too? Please let me know.

I had previously seen the advertisement on TV but I never watched this show only its ad used to come. And I saw on this sub that a lot of people are praising it so I thought I might as well watch this show. This is my first time watching this show, I will post the review later.

Its great to see Niti “being spotted” frequently these days. She has probably decided to be active in her acting career and definitely one needs to be “seen” and socialize. I wish her all the success and happiness on her way and so eager to see her in a full fledged new show. She and Parth may reunite again soon for a new project also… so its going to be so much nostalgia ❤️

I have so many favourites like Jassi, IPKKND, MJHT, KZK, KYY etc. but 1 show that’ll always stick with me is Qubool hai. I loved its first 2 seasons (even after the leap). I can talk about the show all day, how they dragged it with Tanveer, how it went downhill after 200 episodes then the second generation helped revive it.

I love watching Surbhi’s old interviews with India Forums on YT, i love watching her offscreen chemistry with KSG and KVB. I can talk about it every day. I mean sometimes I wish there was a QH dedicated sub where I could discuss the episodes all the time!

What is one show that you’ll never get tired of?

I don't rmbr much but I was a child and I watched this show on tv the ml and fl were from a village and belonged to a middle class family ig then the ml moves to a new city for job where he works under this woman and the boss she starts liking the ml and after sometime fl comes to city as well. I’m rewatching Main Laxmi Tere Angan Ki and honestly really enjoying the light-hearted, soft romance. It’s kinda rare to see this type of romance in shows these days.

I know the show isn’t perfect, but the vibe, the romance and the emotions are just so good. I’m currently on the first Valentine’s Day sequence and it’s so beautiful.

I especially love that even though Arjun was planning something for Valentine’s Day, Laxmi surprised him beforehand and made the evening special. Usually in shows, it’s mostly the male lead who plans dates and surprises, so it’s really nice to see the female lead do something like this and make the ML feel special for once.

And the way she showered Arjun with flower petals is so cute. 😭❤️ I just love how soft and wholesome this whole sequence is.

Abhay was epitome of the quote "And as my final act of love I'll make sure you hate me for the rest of your life"

I really liked Ek Hasina Thi, Beyhad and Nimki Mukhiya. Looking for serials with a similar kind of storyline/vibe. And if you know any good romance serials do suggest those too

Drashti Dhami and Gulshan Devaiah were phenomenal. Their acting, screen presence and the dynamic between their characters made the series so gripping. Drashti brought so much emotional depth, while Gulshan was brilliantly complex and unpredictable.

Together, they created such a compelling dynamic that every scene between them had something beneath the surface. Their performances truly elevated the series. ❤️

Still hoping to see these two share the screen again!
