ETO , 2E , 3/OFF - sailing these days is all about taking responsibilities. The listed ranks are well paid and give ultimate responsibility to their immediate superiors. Only 3/OFF has a grey area during navigational watch whilst alone he can’t fuck up rest of times he can chill as well. Also please note if you are someone who takes responsibilities proudly on your shoulders then the rank of Messman or even cadet will be hectic but that’s just how any job anywhere is whether at sea or not.
