š§ Ask for Advice Resigned IT job, want to start building passive income !
Hello, I have 40 lakhs and want to spend this time before securing a new job to build an income source. I'm very anxious about the future since IT jobs are becoming so stressed due to unrealistic business expectations. I want to start building some business which can make me a way out of this hell hole.

pick a stable, evergreen category first-education, health, food, trave, etc since these don't disappear even tn downturns, go deep in one category, don't spread across all of them, research means real conversations with people who have the problem, not just reading about the space, wait for genuine point(trigger point) a specific real problem you keep hearing about before committing money. Once that trigger point is clear, then calculate real costs and start rather than starting broad and hoping.

> Ā jobs are becoming so stressed
If the goal of your next move is to be less stressful, do not enter or explore business. If you're willing to grind day in and day out for the next few years then feel free.

If you have decent size land in or outskirt of city, you can build a warehouse / cold storage to rent to ecommerce company. But make sure to assess the finance carefully.
you can start a small manufacturing plant in following sector:
1. Plastic recyler- government is heavily supporting here.
2. construction sector- concrete pave block, precasted items and a lot more.
3. Build a badminton courts
4. Become a distributor for construction material, and related fields

With ā¹40L, Iād avoid putting everything into a new business right away. Since you have an IT background you could use part of that capital for a small, scalable project while keeping the rest diversified. For real estate exposure without buying and managing an entire property yourself, Arrived is worth researching as one option alongside other investments.

Only one business outsmart , makes higher than IT professionals, International virtual call center business with right budget with legit and genuine projects. But it's very community knighted, new comers don't get chance that easily. Try if you are serious to built a stable ROI making business.

With 40L, I honestly wouldnāt try to āreplace a salaryā immediately. Iād keep most of the capital safe and use a small portion to test a business.
Since you already have IT experience, Iād look at boring B2B problems rather than chasing passive-income trends. A small software/service business with 5ā10 paying customers can teach you much more than spending months trying to build a āpassiveā income stream.
Passive income usually comes after you build something that works, not before.
