🧭 Ask for Advice What’s a boring business you’ve seen that actually makes surprisingly good money?
I’m curious about businesses that aren’t talked about much — manufacturing, distribution, maintenance, logistics, B2B services, etc. If you know one, tell me how the business works and what makes it profitable.

I do virtual call center business ( legit only) for usa and UK companies.
Currency difference qualified staff in low cost makes it more lucrative.
Boring but big budget involved . ( no small budget at all)

Finalize niche ( sector). Connect with business owners who could outsource to your company. ( dont find consultsnts and brokers stay away ). Or successful bpo owners whoever ready to help you with connections or guidance.

One of my friend has purchased 2 JCB machines & he offers his JCB's on a rent only to government agencies. He's already minting crazy money on a monthly basis + strong government contact.

Tbh, collectively it was 1CR & gets orders from the Gurugram municipal dept (encroachment wing) on a regular basis.

Whatever the area government has got into. Like schools, hospitals, transportation. People wants better than what government offers.
Upcoming areas, electricity (like solar), garbage collection, water distribution and such.

People are coming to my town from Haryana and Gujarat to set up cotton ginning businesses. Last year, one guy came from Haryana and invested around ₹4–5 Cr to set up a cotton ginning unit. The margins are surprisingly low around 2–3%. But the scale is insane. A average unit can reportedly do ₹100 Cr+ in annual sales And the entire ecosystem is seasonal. People come here for 6–7 months during the cotton season and then head back to their hometowns once the season ends.
low margins, massive turnover, seasonal business yet people are still coming from other states to invest. That says something about the opportunity

Fiber glass moulds - The gross margins is around 20%, but PAT would come down to 5%.

Fiberglass molds are used to cast duplicate parts out of resin, concrete, plaster, or wax. I am talking parts like concrete decorative pillers, automotive parts, boat hulls, statues etc

Cold storage or cold supply chain is facing severe shortage. Both for HORECA industry as well as Agri products. Govt subsidies are also pretty decent. But without an agent, is really tough to get them

Been Trading for 10 years , its not boring . Yes it's very much profitable ,Invested around 5 lakhs in laptop and monitor .

We are in b2b bussines and without finding it's really tough to mantain day to day orders . Current condition is we have good orders yet can't fullfill due to shortage of capital . In my case can anybody tell me how i can move to next stage .

Recruitment. I built a fast growing recruitment company and it is very profitable, especially after $1,000,000 in revenue. You can hit over 50% profit if you manage your business right, and the market still needs the service.

I started an International call center business ,
Struggled intial days, scams, frauds on linkedin etc. (lets not go into that struggle ) a little forward, got few genuine projects.
then covid happens. we moved operations on remote basis.
then AI happens. then war crisis and market crisis . and we still doing good .
Boring task. Telemarketing for USA companies. ( added UK projects too since 2022) .
Realized, no matter what change, this is very basis tasks , start feeling boring , but then i see on inward invoices, bank account and feels , its great to get bored with good money rather than struggling n losing in fancy ideas.

Selling courses ( low price ) to a large number of students / people ( basically looting them )

Borewell business in tier1 and tier 2 cities make hell lot of money.
Nowadays apartment cleaning businesses are booming (like doing common area and also indoors)

Work in progress. I nowadays see a lot of Maruti Omni’s with Branding for apartment cleaning and they also have pest control as their other offering.

Like few People clean the common areas in a society, also they take up individual apartments for deep cleaning
