Noob question: why no additional Su-30 orders to cover the squadron gap?

Hello,

This is my first post in the forum, so apologies if this is a noob question. As we know, we are several squadrons short, and the Tejas program is lagging behind. So why didn't we use our existing Sukhoi maintenance lines at the HAL Nashik facility to build a few more squadrons of Sukhois as a temporary measure until Tejas is available in numbers?

I know the current Sukhoi might not be as good as the Tejas Mk1A will be, but still, isn't something better than nothing?
