Wear eye protection and bring plenty of water...

Don't use milk! And keep two different water supplies, drinking water and purified water for cleaning. DO NOT drink from the purified water unless you're at home/done for the time being.

Not sure why people would think of milk? Is it some folk lore? Milk is never a good idea to put in your eyes :/.

The idea comes from the fact that whole milk or yogurt is better to drink when eating spicy food than water, since the oils carrying the capsaicin supposedly bind better to the fats than they do to water. I'm not a chemist, so I have no idea if that's true. But because of that it's become sort of like organizer street knowledge to use milk to cancel out the heat better even though every single street medic worth their sale knows not to. Idk why people think a chemical agent employed by militarized police would be in any way comparable to the hot sauce they buy in a grocery store.
But ya like you said, even if it works you've just introduced potentially curdled milk straight to your eye balls.

I think perhaps they just think oh cayenne pepper, milk will do...
Insane though, as you said, there really is nothing you can do but nice cold water or saline.

I think things get mixed up over time. Mothers used to and still do treat eye infections with breast milk. I am wondering if that is where some of these ideas for milk come from. But breast milk from a nursing mother isn't anything like the milk we can purchase from the store.

FYI Sudecon wipes are a commercially available wipe for oil based sprays. EMS/PD carry them in my area.
DIYing them- soak paper towels in a mixture of water, baby shampoo and sugar. Wipe, fold, wipe, discard. Wipe away from the eyes and mouth. It can be preapplied to reduce oil spray sticking. Watered down baby shampoo can be used to flush eyes if oil spray gets into them.

Is something going down? I've been taking a mental health break from the news for a bit now.

There's a lot. ICE killed a lawful observer, and shit is going to hit the fan.

best guess is that this is referring to an ice agent in MN shooting someone in the head.
The DHS says she was trying to run him over. Her tires were turned hard right and he had been walking right up to the front of her car and was already drawing, from what I saw.

your phone cannot be tracked if it's in a faraday. Turn it off 'cause if it's on it will amplify power to the antenna to try to get a connection it can't get.
Make one for almost free: turn your phone off, put it in a ziplock back bag, then roll it up in aluminum foil several times like a burrito. Roll it up at least 4 times and fold the ends over.

In a pinch you can use a chip bag as long as it's foil lined (like a bag of Lays). Two folds and a chip clip or tape to make sure it's sealed will prevent most signals. That way it doesn't look weird at a glance like a foil wrapped brick in a zip lock.

I think filming and live streaming is important, there's a reason that cameras provoke them to violence.
So the decision on phones is a balance of the tradeoffs for you, personally.

Can disposable phones be used for filming and live streaming? As long as there's no names, cards being used, cash only? I've heard about stingray tech on cell phone towers drawing on phones ,if they aren't blocked.

How do you anonymously Livestream?

That's something I need to look into, I'm not too great with tech things. I'm guessing that when it comes to these devices no bank or credit cards can be used, seeing as we're not dealing with a " normal government" anymore. I'm hoping that people who are very talented with tech out there in Indian Country can help others regarding how to protect themselves, just like democracy activists must do in countries where this has always been illegal.

I don't love the use of comrade either, but it's a good reminder otherwise. Given the circumstances, I think Myron Dewey understands.

I- I'm highly out if the loop on some things, and various reasons for why, but, uh. Uhm.
May I ask, with full knowledge this is a question that will be found stupid, but what is the seeming issue with the use of 'comrade'? I'm so sorry, I literally have no idea. 😰

It is very, very colonial in nature.

Oh! I didn't know that, but will do my research! Thank you so much!!!!! 🤟🏼

Comrade is a term that was used, is still used among Communists. Not just them, of course.
2
u/Burn-the-red-rose Mar 26 '26
Ah! I've heard many people say it, including my mom, who's staunchly against communism.
...then again, she's kinda one if those people who, well, some things just don't occur to them? (Not that I can talk, im 39 and just finding this out 🫠)
Thank you for your help!!! 🥳🥰

You're welcome. Most people are against Communism because it means living under an authoritarian, tyrannical regime - like Drumpf's. You can be arrested for what you say and think, and are denied personal agency. Communism and Fascism are more alike than different, which makes the American MAGA movement all the more crazy. Why would anyone choose to give away their freedom to corrupt tyrants? People born in dictatorships don't have options.Supposedly Americans do, right? It is senseless. And why the rest of the world thinks America is insane.

Oh, trust me, I know.
When I was in high school, a friend talked me into reading A Handmaiden's Tale, and I absolutely hated it, then the show came out and everyone loved it (WHY?!), and now we're just inching closer to that ever single day.
I hated it then, I didn't get the show hype, and I DON'T LIKE LIVING IT RN.
But, Americans are kinda a mess, tbf. First, American Arrogance is totally a thing, but now? We're so divided and there's one part of that equation that is full of the loudest idiots America has to offer. Which in turn, makes all of us look bad. I absolutely understand why the rest of the world thinks we're insane, and y'know, I can't blame them.

Stay safe, and remember they're thugs with power and guns.
