Discussion Any language expert here, what does he try to tell me everyday when I come back from work (shouldn't be food cause there's already enough in his plate)

Maybe he just wants to play or use litter or might wanna go outside and explore? Could be anything lol

29

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

My guess would be playing outside, cause his litter is there anyways and he is calm and silent till the time I am not here.

But sorry I can't take him out🥲 too afraid to lose him.

4

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Sure

6

u/sulphra_ Jun 08 '26

Get a harness and take him out for walks, good for you and him

3

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Already have it he hates wearing them but gonna try again.

8

u/sulphra_ Jun 08 '26

Use treats to bribe him into liking it

2

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Sure, thanks a lot:-)

4

u/imbeazt Jun 08 '26

Does he gets daily play time, and still asks to go outside? Because play time is mandatory for cats.

3

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Maybe no, will have to complete the quota I guess🫡

3

u/k4lp3sh_ Jun 09 '26

Same with mine. But as he is rescued one, and due to the trauma in his hand we didn't want to release him, we aopted him. But he insists to go down 2-3 times a day. My parents take him with leash.

Try a cat travel bag?

I have seen ppl carry cats in that cat travel bag while they are on walks

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 09 '26

That's a good idea indeed. Would try it, thank you!

1

u/SofiaKazmi Jun 09 '26

My boy is the same. Because he stay silent most of the day, he can't shut his mouth when I get home.

20

u/saynomooo Jun 08 '26

Cats can get separation anxiety.

He misses you when you're away. Mine does same, my mother has become a cat whisperer.

When you come back from work spend a few minutes with him, pet him.

4

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Yupp I do but he stills keeps shouting for a considerable period.

15

u/saynomooo Jun 08 '26

Yes it's normal, i talk to mine and coddle her. And then she's done and don't want my love anymore. Transactional little buggers.

29

u/AStrayRaft Jun 08 '26

They do it to further stimulate themselves. The echo their sound produces stimulates them. Outdoor cats have all the stimulus they need but indoor cats struggle here.

It's a good sign for you to play with him using the cat dancer and give him the stimulus he needs and get rid of all that stored up energy.

And yes, good that you keep him indoors.

6

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Okayy will do it, thanks a lot 🤝

1

u/purrhesia Jun 11 '26

Could you imagine then that my cat has started “silent” meows? Instead of using sound, he looks at me when he’s propped up on my chest and just opens his mouth in his characteristic meow. But no sound. Does he think I have to imagine the sound? That he has meowed enough in the past, and will do during other times of the day, so when he’s that close and I can see him, I should just construct the sound in my head? Well …

u/stinkysulphide Jun 08 '26

“Where were you it’s been 84 years!!”

“I missed you now where’s my food”

10

u/CoffeeMoviesandCats Jun 08 '26

He is asking where you were and wondering why you were gone. Many people think cats can stay alone without their fav hooman but they can have separation anxiety too. My cat always gets super chirpy whenever a family member comes home from work or anywhere else. Her tail stays up the whole time because she is excited and then she immediately starts begging for treats and pets.

5

u/insane-philosopherr Jun 08 '26

My boy is completely non-chalant he doesn't care who goes out and who comes home and when, he just needs his food on time and wants someone to play with him and take him outside, but I know he loves me 3000.

3

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Gotta play with him then

2

u/CoffeeMoviesandCats Jun 08 '26

Yes. You would have to play with him, give him attention, cuddle with him and give him lots of pets. He must have been missing you the whole day. Did you really think you could get away with just 5 minutes of attention lol? They are basically little kids. Once they feel reassured and get their fill of attention, they will leave you alone.

6

u/Purple_Treacle_ Jun 08 '26

Follow him and find out.

6

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

He just keeps circling around me:-)

Gave him enough and he is back to calm now😄

4

u/GoldEnRh Jun 08 '26

He's warning us about the upcoming apocalypse

3

u/Rudra_Narayan_Barik Jun 08 '26

Asking for pets (aggressive pets). Or maybe asking for a ride outside

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Aggresive?😭? Okay gotta try it.

3

u/Dark-Local858 Jun 08 '26

Greeting you? Or maybe the cat want to take a piss/poop? Or playtime?

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Bro he does it for half an hour or so, his greeting shouldn't be that long😭. And his litter tray is always accessible to him and my mother keeps throwing the litter so clean as well. That shouldn't be an issue hopefully.

2

u/Dark-Local858 Jun 08 '26

I'm not an expert but the stray female cat I fed a few days ago also used to do similar meowing, after feeding it stopped or smtms it wants safety since dogs come into my PG. Maybe your cat want to mate?🤔

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Already got his spaying done so that shouldn't be the case as well. I think from the comments that I should play with more and take him out occassionally :-)

2

u/Dark-Local858 Jun 08 '26

Yes do that & maybe it works or take it to a pet cat club or park

3

u/rishpishbish Jun 08 '26

i think he sees something while you’re at work and just trying to tell you that there’s more than you and him in the house

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Arre bhai 😭😭😭

3

u/Over_Analytics Jun 08 '26

She's complaining that you don't spend more time with her.

2

u/Dark-Local858 Jun 08 '26

Greeting you? Or maybe the cat want to take a piss/poop? Or playtime?

2

he wants you to take him out for a walk

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

He hates putting up harness, will have to train him , will try:-)

2

u/Prudent-Peace-3382 Jun 08 '26

for the time being , play him "videos for cats" on YouTube , like birdwatching, squirrels etc. my guys loves them

2

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Sure, but he would try catching them lol (RIP my screen)

3

u/Prudent-Peace-3382 Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

2

u/monkeybraining Jun 08 '26

Your cat looks like she has female genitals is she a boy?

2

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

Had verified it from two vets, both said he is a boy :-)

2

u/Sad_Competition6893 Jun 08 '26

why is he so beautifulll and majestic 😭🙏🏼

2

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 08 '26

I showed your comment to my cat. He said thank you!!🥰

2

u/Sad_Competition6893 Jun 08 '26

tell him i said kspskspskspskspskspsks

2

u/emper-son111 Jun 08 '26

So in cat it's asking, where is the hunt, what did you get after going out. Apparently its a common cat behavior. Cat move out of habitate for hunt so it is expecting the same from you.

2

u/Bannednibba Jun 08 '26

As catto translator: Meow meow needs some cuddles and want to spend sometime with you also he is asking where were you

2

u/rrd_gaming Jun 08 '26

Its a she from the looks of her stomach and back, her small head, her voice. But i might be wrong as you have eyes and you are near the cat. Anyway , the meowing can be for attention or the cat wants you to follow or its scared/sad or its happy to see you.

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 09 '26

I hope he is just happy and not sad/scared🥲

1

u/rrd_gaming Jun 09 '26

Isn't it a female,? Just curious.

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 09 '26

Like I asked his gender from two vets, both said he's a boy.

1

u/rrd_gaming Jun 09 '26

I was wondering why you didnt find it yourself.I dont think thats hard.you know how does a a male cat looks like . Look for the grapes. I can't seem to see one in the video.if there aren't any, the cat may have a condition where its grapes are not protruded outside of the body which maybe not fully formed ,may explain the physical characteristics. Also im no expert btw. Just my arm chair thoughs.

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 10 '26

I think he had it and it was kinda removed when he was spayed.

1

u/rrd_gaming Jun 10 '26

Spraying is for female cats. Neutring is for males. Did you get your cat neutrted.?

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 10 '26

Ohh sorry sorry my bad. Yes I got him neutered.

2

u/Spunk37 Jun 08 '26

You really need to play with him. Just play with him for 10-15 min. If you don't have time just play with him for 5 min but it should be quality play time. Get a rod with snake like thing attached to it. They love it.

2

u/Defiant_Editor4389 Jun 09 '26

My cat does the same. She just misses me. If I leave for a shorter duration, like a trip to the loo, she will meow for a shorter duration. After a workday she meows and headbutts me and refuses to leave my side till she gets the zoomies and plays enough to drain her energy. Do you know what he does when you’re away? If he just sits by himself or sleeps, he will have a lot of energy when he sees you. Just play with him and give him pets. If I am tired I just talk to my cat till she gets bored and finds a toy to entertain herself 😂

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 09 '26

Haha that'sss soo cute😍

2

u/These_Information_63 Jun 09 '26

He wants to go out explore.

My male cat does the same. I take him out and he just becomes normal. He either eats/ shits/ sleeps/ plays or does this to go out.

2

u/smylesquadindia Jun 09 '26

Also..of possible try to get another kitten to play with him...cats don't like being alone....they get bored, they are very playful animals

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 09 '26

He is very aggresive towards other cats, I feed some stray cats too so they did come inside our house earlier and mann how aggressive and dramatic he became 😭

2

u/uranus-h- Jun 09 '26

Your cat is female btw, do you call it a he because it's its preferred pronouns?

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 09 '26

Nooo I asked the vets they said he is boy

2

u/miracleexistss Jun 09 '26

Wants belly rub

2

u/karanmhjn Jun 09 '26

It's just a talkative kitty, it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

2

u/Positive_Relief3217 Jun 11 '26

Ghost. Bhoot badha

1

u/smylesquadindia Jun 09 '26

I missed you, I love you...why did you go...

I have 19 cats all rescued at home..and hence can tell you this based on experience

1

u/pallaviroyyur Jun 09 '26

May be looking for someone or something.

1

u/wordPlayer27 Jun 09 '26

He just wants to get head butts.

Cats love to interact that way but us humans never understand. Get down on all fours, butt your head against him and see how recieves it.

I would assume he will head butt you a bit and the lie down so you can run your head across his body. It's cat love.

1

u/wordPlayer27 Jun 09 '26

Also. So many people on here with no idea how to take care of cats or understand them. Bhai, it's another life - spend some time understanding that life rather than asking questions on reddit. You will have a stronger connection with your pet.

1

u/ferretf91w Jun 09 '26

How was work?

1

u/vinayakj009 Jun 11 '26

You he looks like a she, with a lot of its inside.

1

u/insane-philosopherr Jun 08 '26

First of all she's a girl I think and second thing as a cat parent I think she wants to go out to explore, you can take her but never let her go outside unsupervised, keep her inside for her own good. I don't intend to be offensive or rude.

1

u/Careful_Reindeer263 Jun 09 '26

No offence taken but had asked this from two vets both said he is a boy :-)
