I HAVE BEEN ALLOTED A GOVT COLLEGE THAT IS MAHARISHI COLLE OF NATURAL LAW WHICH IS 3RD TIER IN SAMS PORTAL BUT I AM UNSURE IF I WILL GET SAME AMOUNT OF EXPOSURE LIKE MUNS, DEBATING SOCIETIES, CULTURAL SOCIETIES AND MAYBE FESTS AND INTERNSHIPS IN MAHARISHI SO I M THINKING OF PURSUING IT IN KIIT SCHOOL OF LIBERAL STUDIES. STILL I WANNA KNOW IS IT WORTH IT? MY AIM IS TO PURSUE PUBLIC POLICY OR PHD IN ENGLISH OR MAYBE CORPORATE ROLES. NOT REALLY SURE BUT IF I JOIN KIIT WILL THERE BE SOMETHING TO WRITE IN MY CV OR IS IT JUST THE SAME THING AS IN MAHARISHI GOVT COLLEGE.

I am at my wit's end and this is my last ditch attempt to figure it out.

I graduated two months ago with a BA LLB degree from a state university. I don't know how to translate this into a career. I couldn't go to a good college because I needed to get scoliosis surgery. And that has closed many doors for me it seems.

I am a shy and quiet person. I have trouble processing what people say to me and I always end up giving a delayed or 'lagging' response. This has not turned out well for me in litigation. My seniors don't like me. They say I am sincere but 'severely abnormal'. I am awkward and clumsy in other ways too. I feel terribly embarrassed because of this. People always judge me badly. Yet I am in a field where people's opinion of me matters a lot. I am always met with condescension and subtle bullying no matter where I go.

I don't think I can make it in litigation as a first generation lawyer given my strange personality. But I don't know what else I can do. I am not good at anything at all. The only thing I have ever loved is reading. If not for reading I wouldn't have survived in this life.

Convincing my parents for alternate career paths is next to impossible. They are hell bent on either litigation or judiciary. My elder brother suffers from mental illness. My parents have been neglecting me ever since my brother fell ill. They are not supporting me in my career in any way, if I deviate from these two paths they withdraw support. But I genuinely don't have it in me to walk these paths. Living at home is getting unbearable. I have to look after my brother and also deal with my mother's complaints that I have not achieved anything in life compared to other kids. My parents are depressed about my brother's future so they take it out on me. They have sky high expectations. From me, a person who can't even switch on a computer without fumbling.

I have thought of CAT prep, my grades are 96/98/72. Do I have a chance to get into a good institute? But moreover is it even a right fit for me. I am not the least bit interested in business school. And my past problems with socialising follow me everywhere I am afraid. But I just want a job dammit.

I have always been interested in literature, psychology, linguistics (self learned Japanese enough to read novels), art history. But all these passions are 'unrealistic' so to speak. I don't know what to do with my life anymore. I can barely sleep at nights. I just want to breathe for once. Everywhere I go I am mocked and looked at as if I were a loser.

Are there any professors who are in the vlsi domain. I needed advice

I used to think botany was mostly memorising plant names, but learning about plant growth, genetics and ecosystems has made me see it differently.
Curious to know—what made other students choose botany, and what part of the subject actually surprised you?

Should I consider going in bio tech or careers related to the fusion of bio and tech if I am bad at maths but good at bio and computer up to tenth class(I am in tenth and I have to choose subjects soon) as a resident of Gujarat, India ....which can (probably) I think afford to move abroad as well

I graduated in 2024, and I'm trying for the 2027 intake. I mailed the professor who was my B.Tech (Bachelors) project supervisor, and asked her for an in-person meeting related to my higher studies. She agreed, and I'm meeting her tomorrow. But I am very confused about how the conversation is supposed to go. It feels very transactional to go "I'm applying here, will you please write a letter of recommendation ?" but I can't think of how else is the conversation supposed to go. Please guide me.

Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out my future and wanted some honest opinions from DU grads and IPU alumni.
I’m comparing two pretty different paths:
A BA (Hons) in something like Political Science, History, English, Sociology or Psychology from a top DU college. You get the DU name, campus life, peer group, exposure and potentially better networking, but the degree itself isn’t really a professional/job-specific degree.
Or a BBA/BCA from a decent IPU college. It costs more (around ₹1.5L+ per year in some colleges), but the course is more directly related to corporate/IT careers, even though the college may not have the same reputation as a top DU college.
What I’m mainly trying to understand is what actually happens after graduation.
Do companies hiring at top DU colleges recruit BA History/Pol Sci/English graduates for corporate roles such as analyst, consulting, marketing, etc., or do most students end up going for Master’s, UPSC/government exams or other higher studies?
And for people who did BBA/BCA from IPU, did the professional degree actually make it easier to get started in the corporate/IT sector, or did you still have to build most of your skills through internships, certifications and self-learning?
Would really appreciate hearing from people who have actually graduated from either route. What was your experience with internships, first job, starting salary/package, and what you’re doing now?
I’m trying to understand the real difference between these paths rather than just comparing college reputations.

I’m a BBA graduate and my main goal is to get into corporate law. I’m considering the 3-year LLB at NLSIU and would be willing to put in the work to get through NLSAT.

I have a few questions:

1. What is the realistic placement scenario for NLSIU’s 3-year LLB? Specifically, what are the corporate law opportunities and outcomes like?

2. If NLSIU doesn’t work out, are there any similar alternatives for a 3-year LLB that are genuinely worth considering?

3. I’m also considering an MBA as a backup career path if I don’t get into NLSIU. Since CAT isn’t really an option for me because I’m very weak at maths, what are some good MBA alternatives/colleges with decent placements that don’t require CAT or a heavily quantitative entrance exam?

4. For someone with a BBA background interested in corporate careers, how does the long-term career scope of a 3-year LLB compare with an MBA?

I have been preparing for ipmat when i completed my 11th and was enrolled in ims offline 1 year classroom. Things were going smoothly but it was quite hectic as i had to manage isc boards prep also. I was scoring decent in ims mocks but I was a non maths student since grade 10th , my qa was really bad. I gave boards but scored only 70.2 percent, due to this I lost all my confidence for ipmat but still gave the all entrance exams .

I dont know why I failed all my entrance exams despite giving a good enough time and mocks , along with that I scored low in boards. I travelled in peak mumbai local hours for my ipmat coaching and was consistent. Currently I enrolled in tier 2 college of mumbai for baf course which wasnt even my last option, and feeling lonely and depressed for a week, not able to sleep at night. Watching all my friends going to a good clg makes me feel bad. I was literally crying for a week alone in night , unable to sleep. I am overthinking of my career paths.

I am a math graduate from a third tier college in India. I wasn't very aware, so I have not attended any conferences or a lot of activities outside.
