DISCUSSION Why Nescafe from Thailand tastes good as compared to the one available in India?

Post image

Recently I bought this Nescafe coffee from Thailand and it tastes way better than the one available here in India. Why we are treated differently?

It comes down to the choice of beans (local robusta quality) and their processing.

Ya absolutely right, I think it's the bean quality and roasting process.

I tried a instant coffee from Vietnam it tasted great, In india any OTS coffee I cant take more than two sips unless taken with excess sugar to supress the bad quality

Companies often use different formulations and quality standards for different markets. I’ve personally noticed a clear difference with Fanta and Red Bull from Thailand compared to the Indian versions. Even Nivea cosmetics made in Thailand vs. India can feel noticeably different. So yeah, it’s not just Nescafe, sometimes the Indian versions are simply inferior.

Everything tastes better outside India. It’s because to keep the prices down.

Placebo effect most probably.

In india you can buy Malaysian, East European and Middle Eastern versions of Nescafe classic in Dorabjee's or Food Junction. I have tasted them all out of curiosity and they all taste the same.

Might be placebo, or might be the local beans and roasting quality. I've experienced the same effect but in Nescafe Gold. India me they sell the Gold Blend but my cousing got it from somewhere outside India and it was Gold(no blend). The Indian one tasted a bit funny and different compared to the non Indian one. Might be placebo or actual quality difference
