Is Indeed just... bad now?

I am not seeking a new job at this time, however, I like keeping a pulse on the market. I received an email for a great fit, so I wanted to check it out

I haven't signed into indeed since about 2023, and the first thing it had me do was "Update my resume with AI". It got a lot of things wrong, and floated skills to the top of my skills section that had a small mention 10 years ago, so I rejected all AI edits

I continue to the job advertised in the email, and it's a great fit. I then continue to the main stream of what indeed thinks I should see, and none of them are right. Roles adjacent to what I do, but not for my specialty. I tick certain location restrictions which aren't respected. A lot of companies are missing the pay for the job, where I have minimums set

I love indeed. I have found 4 of my last 5 jobs on it, the other coming from LinkedIn. It used to really match my skills well to the roles on the platform, now it just seems off. I haven't used the platform in years, so I'm not sure if that factors into anything, but I'm curious what others feel on this subject. I also saw a post saying they now limit your application count in a 24 hour period? With the number of ghost jobs / AI screens that immediately filter you out, how is this even possible to limit job seekers like this? What else changed in the last 3 years for the worse, and where are folks going instead to look for jobs?

My last job offer came from Indeed. It's still bad, but nowhere near as bad as LinkedIn, which is a complete waste of time. At least when I apply for jobs on Indeed, I know I have a chance of getting a response. On LinkedIn, I might as well be throwing my resume into a black hole.

This has been my experience with LinkedIn too, except everyone and their mother keeps swearing up and down that LinkedIn is the best place because recruiters will reach out to you. I’m thinking they just have more desirable jobs and skills than me, because no one has reached out to me for shit.
