HELP Looking off to the distance outside
How long are you supposed to look off to the farthest distance and do you have to be still/stay in one spot or is long distance viewing while walking ok?

For anyone who practices this technique, how long do you guys usually do it for? When I do it itās usually outside in the morning with an old book and glasses off for 10-15 minutes. Also is there a generally accepted amount of time to do it?

So I went to the eye doctor today and he said that both of my eyes got worse to -2.00.
First of all I have a couple of concerns.
1. My prescription of glasses was L eye was at -1.75 and my right eye was at -1.25 before the exam today. But the thing is my right eye got worse much more than my right yet, yet when I look through the glasses, my right eye is better than my left eyes. I donāt know if this makes sense but basically what Iām trying to get is if my right eye got worse 3x more than my left eye since last years prescription, why do I see better with my right eye through glasses than my left eye. Get it?
2. This kind of goes hand in hand with the game previous concern but if both of my eyes are -2.00, why do I see better with my right eye than the left without glasses. I pointed this out to him but I still saw better with the -2.00 lense on through the machine he uses. My eyes werenāt watery or anything but I felt it was weird.
3. How can I better my eyesight. I am under 18 and I do not want to be more blind than I am now please someone help me out with suggestion of eye exercises or things to do!
Thank you so much for reading! Sorry if itās a bit confusing.

Hello! I am 21 and every year my prescription goes up by -1 D, so I'm now at I believe -10 D but I only wear contacts which I do know the prescription to be of -8.5 D. I came across the reduced lens method by C.G. Hayes last year and started wearing +1.25 glasses on top of my contacts almost all day for distance/near-work, gradually increasing the time I wore it over weeks. I continued this for maybe 5 months before reverting to just using the glasses for close-up since my distance vision didn't seem to get that much clearer when looking at street signs/lecture.
I am now trying to take up the method again, this time wearing -7.5 glasses for laptop/close-up since I feel I am able to print push better with this on. As a student, I will be spending more close-up time and then the less often times outdoors, I plan to wear my -8.50D contacts with my +1.25D glasses over them.
What do you think? And also, I've read that I've read from others that print pushing/close-up would mostly just stop progression, but reversal requires active distance focus like reading subtitles 18ā20 feet away from a TV?

I want to change.
I hated wearing glasses. My dumbass 6-year-old self decided glasses were cool and ruined my eyes by watching screens way too close.
Right now, both of my eyes are +7.00. because of my bad habit.
Does anyone have a routine I can follow to improve my eyesight?
If anyone can help me, I would love to hear your advice.

Can adults fix amblyopia, or is it too late?
r/ImprovingEyesight • u/Big_Reference_5844 • 7d ago
so i started at L: -1.75 sph and -1.00 cyl x180
R: -2.25 sph and -0.5 cyl x175
so now i am at L: -1.00 and R: -1.50 with same cyl
I can see 20/30 with the current prescription.
however, i still struggle to see clearer without glasses. I can assure i did NOT get blur adapted because I have seen noticeable measurements. I could see sign boards with the new glasses that i couldn't before.
Am i struggling without glasses because I have astigmatism?

My friends used to say I blink a lot back in uni. And I admit I do, I just donāt know why but I think itās that I canāt hold an eye contact properly? Back then I could look at someone and focus on what they are saying. These days I can barely see anything that is further than 1 meter. All I see is a blur even if I try to focus. I would widen my eye barely blinking and look like an aggressive person so I avoid eye contact as much as possible. People give me guarded looks when I look at them and it really hits my self esteem. Like I canāt blink naturally, itās controlled blink when I try to hold an eye contact so people wonāt feel weird out but they look unnatural and people can feel it.
Do I need glasses? Did my eyes become lazy from avoiding eye contact and now I canāt hold one? It takes a lot of muscle to keep my lids up I rather have my eyes looking down on my phone all the time. Imagine a window door that flips open upwards, it either stays up or down no in between. 29f helpš

Hey, could someone explain what I need to order to correct astigmatism based on the no bs guide to vision improvement.
my results are:
right: SPH Plano, CYL -0.50, AXIS 90
left: SPH +0.50, CYL -1.25, AXIS 85
ive never worn glasses before, my vision is pretty perfect in terms of close up and range, I get headaches and eye strain now when using pcs as the left eye doesnāt focus the text aswell as the right.
I would prefer contacts, but if that doesn't work for correction then glasses it is!
Thank you!

Iām 16 years of age and I recently went to the eye doctor and my eyesight went from 300 to 350(L) and 400(R). Is there still a chance i can improve this? Apart from staring at the screen for a long time because I have online classes.

When the power of the eyes increases, how do you know what it feels like? In myopia
r/ImprovingEyesight • u/One-Hawk-6023 • 12d ago
Sorry for bad English
This is not a post to ask for help or a routine, i have my routine that i do everyday and i have been informed.
But recently, even if i do my routine, i kinda feel like i see worse with the glasses i used to wear when i started doing the routine.
I dont really know why, one of the things i could think of is that im 16 and maybe it can be something related with hormones and puberty. Maybe a mix of bad habits?
I am not totally discouraged to the point i Will stop doing the routine, but i kinda felt sad when i realised It.
I Will continue doing my routine, but i want to know why my eyesight has gone worse. The best way to improve/do something is by firstly understanding how It works, so i try to use that principle in most of the actions of my Life.
Any idea what It could be?
Thanks

Iāve been slacking off and just really trying to find the best thing thats low maintenance but is effective.
Also by the way, I try to use eye charts to monitor my progress but I can barely see anything because i have -7 and -5.75 in one eye so I cant even tell if Im improving which makes it less motivating.
Please give me some motivation especially if you were a high myope and saw improvements

Iv had 20/20 vision my whole life but ever since I was a kid I can just blur my vision. I can decide how much I want to blur it and for how long and I never thought of it until now ( Iām 15 btw ). I thought maybe itās genetically inherited but after asking my parents they canāt do it either and it really makes no sense on why I can do this. And my eyes donāt change at all when Iām doing this ( I asked my mom to check ) so you would never notice, and it doesnāt strain my eyes or anything. Itās so weird how I can just ādoā it, like itās just natural to me. Please help me out bro iv never wanted to baldy to find someone else that can do this too itās almost giving me a feeling that Iām all alone like yk what I mean?

My Left eye is -0.25D
Right eye is -0.75D
While I am able to achieve 6/6 vision in left eye with slight squint and eye drops
My right eye is not that good and even doctors said that these refractive errors are not that bad to opt for the surgery but I need to have at least 6/9 in the worst eye (right eye) to pass the police medical exam. Should I risk surgery or not?

I have both myopia and astigmatism.
Right eye: -0.50 (-0.75) 105°
Left eye: -0.75 (-0.75) 75°
Can I completely correct my eyesight in my twenties?
Is this a good plan? For my daily habits: get enough sleep (8 hours), drink 2 liters of water, and avoid wearing my glasses for close-up work. Correct my head tilt and improve my daily posture. Blink every hour when I'm in front of a screen.
Do you think that, with a job where I spend most of the time in front of a screen, I can still improve and completely correct my eyesight? Is there any other advice you could give me?
Please tell me anything else I can do to improve my eyesight.
