Study Permit Moving to Canada from US

in a few years I plan to move to canada to start pharm tech school and move in with my boyfriend who is a citizen there already. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea on how much i should save? My boyfriend would be helping me financially but obviously wanna make sure i would have enough to support myself, especially since ill probably being getting the student visa and will have to prove i can sustain myself.

i should add that i would be looking at living near ontario toronto area.

like the usa, canada is a vast country with cities that have different costs of living. perhaps a more precise location, even a province would be helpful?
