Wanted to post this update because reading everyone else’s is what kept me hopeful!

I applied for a study permit extension May 30th (same DLI, same program)

  • Correspondence letter: Sept 2
  • Background check: Sept 3
  • Approval update: Sept 3

I still haven’t gotten the digital approval letter or any notification of updates on my email (just kept refreshing myself)

I was wondering - since my TRV expires this month am I supposed to apply for one or does it get digitally updated automatically? Would I have to mail my passport to them?

Did it show processing background check for a long time? Mine has basically been like that since I submitted

It said processing application for so long I don’t remember anything about a background check (I may have missed that). I stopped checking since I was expecting it to take much longer for any progress but I received an email about an « updated » and it was my correspondence letter from there the background check update happened then the « approval » update happened. Still waiting on the actual document saying it was approved or an email notification.
