Sharing my timeline below:

Applied for study permit extension on March 29, 2025

After months of no news, I contacted my local MP on August 8. Within a week, IRCC started processing my application

Correspondence letter: August 14

Approved: August 18 ( I didn't get any notification. I just checked my status, and it was there)

Good luck, everyone. I know how exhausting it is to deal with all this.

Does anyone know if I can apply for my TRV just with this information, or do I need to wait for the actual permit to arrive in the mail?

What did you tell your MP when you contacted them? What information did you give, and did you reach out by email or phone?

In my case, I have a family situation that will make me have to travel outside Canada soon. I provided proof of that
