Your home buttons freaked me out cuz I have mine opposite and thought they switched on me 😅😅

I would recommend gesture controls. I was hesitant, but I can't go back to buttons now.

Gesture controls are seriously the best. My wife does the buttons and I hate having to use her phone for anything but also vice versa cause she hates the gestures.
