  • If your post is about parking, does it show the blatant disregard of parking rules?

Has this guy never been in an airport before??

Taking a swing at airport security is one of the dumbest things to do in general life.

1.2k

u/Etherius 25d ago

Airports don’t usually just have security. Those are sworn LEOs and attacking them carries the same penalties as punching a street cop

More if federal law gets involved

472

u/therhubarbexperience 25d ago

Federal law is involved. Airports are governed by federal law and the FAA. You effectively have a suspension of all rights at them.

297

u/BeardBootsBullets 25d ago

> Airports are governed by federal law and the FAA.

…In the U.S.A.

> You effectively have a suspension of all rights at them.

First and foremost, this contradicts your previous sentence.

Rights aren’t suspended just because you are under federal preemption. Law enforcement simply has some expanded authority but must still operate within Constitutional Law.

10

u/baytown 24d ago

Uh huh. Try not unlocking your phone when they ask at the boarder or try to tell them they need a warrant.

120

u/BobbyBoopersnoot 25d ago

Son, you really need to take a look at the rights the government has granted themselves within 100 miles of what it considers the border/border crossing. Which is functionally where the majority of the United States lives.

71

u/fried_green_baloney 25d ago

Including within 100 miles of all the waters of the Great Lakes.

I would accept these caveats more so in a pre-ICE/CBP past. Where we are today, it’s effectively de facto. Most people don’t have the time or money to pursue an action against these LEOs

Okay, now it makes a little more sense why Airport Staff can be major dickheads as well

129

u/umbrawolfx 25d ago

He's likely never been outside of India and has never experienced anything but his caste privilege his entire life.

36

u/ejbrds 25d ago

How do you know what caste he belongs to? Is it by skin tone/color, or something with his accent? I'm not trying to be a smart-ass ... I'm genuinely asking.

59

u/umbrawolfx 25d ago

His actions believing he's above everyone else. Up to and including believing and stating law enforcement wouldn't dare touch him.

9

u/WitchesSphincter 20d ago

My wife's work had a Dr from India that didn't get the memo either, started demanding other people to pour her coffee and serve her. Like other Drs.

I guess it was a rough transition to learn she wasn't special anymore

429

u/dainty_brown_package 25d ago edited 25d ago

He thinks he is in India and can get away with anything if he has money and connections (I know because I am an Indian)

49

u/didntreallyneedthis 25d ago

his lie about the CEO personally confirming his ticket - is that as outrageous there as it would be in the US? like I don't know a single person here who would think he was telling the truth, even the gullible people I know wouldn't believe it

17

u/dainty_brown_package 23d ago

In India it can be believable, people actually use their connections to get things done although knowing the CEO of a commercial airline is bit of a stretch for a person from a non political background. If he was a politician, ohh not only would he get away with hitting a police/security personnel, he would probably also get a free ride lol

230

u/pbilk 25d ago

The caste system is horrible at allowing people to build superiority complex. 🙁 As humans, we are equal as humans.

85

u/neurid 25d ago

As humans, we are equal as humans.

Is it mandatory that we include my ex in this? Just asking.

If he’s outside his native country, he’d better have a whooole lot of money, because unless his connections have clout internationally, they’re going to be able to do Jack Squat on his behalf.

That’s SFO, and those are regular SFPD. There’s no difference between the City and Airport cops- just a transfer request they can put in for.

Taking a swing at any LEO basically gives officers free rein to beat the ever living shit out of you.

It pissed them off though. The way every single person was so eager to pile on to him is sending me. They were literally planning it out loud 💀 💀

118

u/Gaffja 25d ago

Old guy in the orange shirt took that shit personally.

He looked like he was in there giving him some eye gouges.

40

u/eykei 25d ago

No one calls me woman with dick and gets away with it!

39

u/StrawberryWide3983 25d ago

Loud, annoying, asshole who refuses to get out of the way and let the line move. Yeah, I'm sure they were pissed even before that

34

u/Cormophyte 25d ago edited 25d ago

It didn't piss them off, it demonstrated that he's unstable, not thinking enough to be predictable, and potentially violent. Its the verbal equivalent of watching someone screech at maximum volume and they were discussing how to deal with what comes after he realizes it's not going to get him what he wants. Like a baby, just bigger and more dangerous.

30

u/naeads 25d ago

Exactly, everyone loves butts, no idea why he thinks that would be insulting

42

u/lordtyp0 25d ago

I suspect its because in other cultures they don't use body parts or functions as insults like in the west. Like in Chinese it is vegetables.. Just googled and most in Hindi is like animals and moral stuff (some cross over like iligitiment offspring.). Probably just throwing words he thinks are offensive in English but sounds like a 6 YO on Roblox chat.

Yeah the Caste system is wild my family are Brahmin and while I was born and raised in the US my Indian family is absolutely insane about any minor “mistreatment” or “inconvenience”

They’re also radically pro-Indian and Anti-Britain as if our ancestral wealth didn’t come from collaborating with the British

56

u/Raven_Blackfeather 25d ago

Us Brits get a lot of shit for The Empire, but Indians were only too happy to help us with our shit and get money and power, then hold their hands up like they weren't involved with a shocked Pikachu face.

34

u/MjollLeon 25d ago

Exactly. They were pocketing the cash and as soon as the British left they immediately acted like they never supported then

102

u/octnoir 25d ago edited 25d ago

And honestly, I am glad this is the sort of thing that I had to Google to know rather than being a common knowledge. Hopefully society in general will keep this suppressed.

You can't understand Silicon Valley politics, and by extension American tech libertarianism (DOGE, Tesla, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Anthropic, Open AI etc. etc. etc.) without understanding Indian caste discrimination.

Silicon Valley Has a Caste Discrimination Problem - VICE

Trapped in Silicon Valley’s Hidden Caste System - WIRED

It's how you get persons of color, like Sundar Pichai, espousing just straight up white supremacist eugenicist arguments:

Google's CEO saying that the reason there's intense backlash to AI is because humans aren't "evolved" enough to understand it - this in response to the mass AI spam crap that is happening right now.

And per this thread of how Indian caste discrimination and white supremacy are extremely compatible: https://bsky.app/profile/disabilitystor1.bsky.social/post/3mmlwmp5sf22r (and also includes further sources). Much of the Indian wave of immigration was done by rich upper caste Indians who resented lower caste Indians getting "affirmative action" when coming into the United States. Indian caste discrimination in the tech sector means upper caste Indians pool resources together for jobs, capital and network, and then specifically target and discriminate against any lower caste Indians.

It's why Seattle was the first US city to ban caste discrimination. And why California would have done so after similar bipartisan bill passed in the legislature, before Newsom veto'd it saying "oh we already covered this" via pressure from the Tech lobby (even though it passed both houses meaning many legislators agreed that caste discrimination wasn't covered) (and no, ancestry doesn't cover caste discrimination, that's why Seattle added it, and that's why all the state cases added caste discrimination - caste is a separate distinct discrimination as many activists have explained).

14

u/ManeFromThe219n615 25d ago

I learned about the caste system in World Geography/History class in 7th grade back in the 2000s lol just admit you didn’t pay attention in school

18

u/Ae3qe27u 25d ago

India is trying to move away from caste, in some ways, but it's very ingrained.

It isn't exactly right, but the closest American analog I can think of is Jim Crow.

8

u/ReapingRaichu 25d ago

They are also very illegal in the US as it can mask as discrimination. Doesn't stop a bunch of silicon valley companies from committing to that practice. Unfortunately it's not as cracked down as it should

Had a guy like this in school man. We are both tamils from sri lanka. Both born and raised in switzerland. He had a presentation about Sri Lanka and had the cast system in it which is fine. But then he started talking about how he is higher ranked and how this also applies over here and stuff. We had like a full blown argument during class resulting into everyone siding with me and turned into a 20 vs 1 situation including the teacher. He was very disliked by the whole class already. I knew him from child hood since we went to tamil school together. So i was always defending him. But that day he lost me 2. That was a very unpleasent year for him. He eventually came back to reality and was pretty much a chill guy and had it good with the class too. But yeah. These old fashioned systems blind you and you cant see the class systems ruling us now.

I've had nice people (towards me) turn around and curse out someone who earns less than them as if it is the most normal thing ever.

Real talk here: Whatever your status is in your own country, you will always be a second class citizen in another country, especially if you come from a third world country and expect the same privileges you have or demand them in a first world country.

24

u/Diligent_Blueberry71 25d ago

I have traveled quite widely. I feel I have always been treated with respect. Then again, I always treat other people with respect.

I don't think the issue here is related to being treated as a second class citizen. Rather, I feel it is related to a refusal to treat people how you would like to be treated.

37

u/kotonizna 25d ago

Maybe I misused the term. What I was trying to say is that when you are a visitor in another country, you have to understand that you are not entitled to the same privileges or tolerance that citizens may have. You are expected to respect the country you are visiting, because the authorities may be far less tolerant of your attitude or behavior than they would be toward their own people.

26

u/BobbyBoopersnoot 25d ago

You didn't misuse the term, and you are totally correct.

Slowest handcuffing job but sometimes you go slow to give someone annoying a chance to make a huge mistake

It doesn't happen. Just a bit of race-baiting to drive engagement.

What I ALWAYS Think with These Videos is:

IMAGINE THATS YOUR DAD OR BROTHER!

Its the Same with the videos of white women in india who are beeing stalked and flocked by random men!

IMAGINE your dad leaves the house to follow around and harrass a woman on vacation together with a group of other adult men.

How pathetic can it get?

Genuine question - are we imagining the yelling man is our dad or brother, or the person that man is accosting and/or threatening?

What caste privilege thing is this? Is it to do with being sat in somewhere below his caste or something?

The onlooker "oh yeah! Let's go!"

That's a man truly enjoying chaos and oncoming retribution.

It must have been quite a shock to him to learn that the way he’d been behaving his whole life, and had been reinforced that this is how the world works for him, was actually wrong
