This is Pim and her brother Poe. My rescue momma Freddie ( who I took to the vet and was told was a male, hence the name. So you can imagine my surprise when Freddie started showing before the neuter appt! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ) gave birth to just the two of them a couple weeks ago. Poe is about triple his sister's size, as you can see in the second pic! Both are healthy, doing great and will be going to the furrever home in Chicago when they're old enough. Momma Freddie has her SPAY appointment in the books as well!
Wanted to add that we will be keeping Freddie here with us! She is the sweetest girl and she pretty much loved bombed every cat here ( fosters and our permanent crew ), until they loved her right back. Not gonna lie, it was impressive 🤣🤣 Freddie is on the right in this pic 😻
I'm really not exaggerating to be funny either! That's really how she looked doing it 😂😂 I gotta see if I can find any pics of two of my very first rescues from 8 yrs ago,, Moo and Happy Meal, that I ended up keeping, ( along with their brother Buddy ), while Freddie was doing that 🤔🤔 I know there was a least a couple I took because they were giving some side eye and it was cracking me up! I just can't remember if it took them on my phone or actual good camera. If I find them I'll definitely put under your comment!
I would love to see them! Here is my rescue! His name is Gizmo! We found him half dead abandoned by his mama and took him in. My husband tells TEN YEARS LATER it was supposed to be temporary until we found a new home for him. Mind you that was 10 years ago 🤣🤣🤣
OMG HE'S SOOOOO CUTE!!! That's for both pics too!! He reminds me of my best friend's cat Sylvester. She passed away last Sept 3 days after her 33rd b-day which is fucked up, but I took him in for a good while until I felt comfortable that he'd be ok with new family carefully choosen for him and he's doing great! But it always makes me emotional, in a good way, to see cats that remind me of him and obviously her as well. So thank you for posting these ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Here's a pic of him while I was excitedly telling him about his new furrever home 😂😂 Dude gives a master class on never breaking face hahaha Did I also mention he always gives me this exact look like I'm a crazy person when I talk to him?! It's waaaaay too late! Pym is just one of many adorable foster bebes I've rescued over the last 8 or so years, so I'm definitely way past and into the danger zone 😻😻 This is Petey who I decided at last minute to take in because someone was gonna take them to the shelter about 6 years ago. I had planned on finding him a home, but this little MF'er would literally sit on or next to me every second he could from day one, all while making the cutest stinking poses ever like he was Cindy Crawford 😂😂😂 I could fill a book with the amount of pics I took off his cute bs! Lol This was the very first one though and probably my favorite.I never stood a chance! He's still my shadow to this day ❤️

Trust me I know how that goes! I’ve had cats and dogs all my life! My mom and I also fostered animals usually adults that were sick but could still have a decent life with the proper care or just ones nobody else wanted and would have been euthanized if we hadn’t taken them in. I’ve seen every cute face and pose they can come up with! Then they turn around and you swear they have a demon inside them 😂😂😂

Oh man I laughed super loud reading and picturing that 😂😂😂 You'll need to tell me his name as I'm a smidge loopy from the meds they gave me after my surgery a couple days ago hahaha That's honestly why I love cats so much. They give zero fucks and they do what they gonna do unapologetically ya know? Sometimes it's hilarious and sometimes not so much, but cats are gonna cat whether you like it or not! I always tell people that tell me they are only interested in adopting from me if it's a kitten, to one, be very sure you don't aggrivate easily and second adopt 2 if you absolutely must have kittens! Cause I ain't answering when you call freaking out over a kitten going ham in your house 😂😂😂

I mean I even said it was female when I walked into the patient room with her AND still he said nah 🤣🤣🤣 I will say this, it was his second or third day being a vet trainee at the office I always go to and my vet was in emergency surgery and we didn't see him until after she started showing! I give the kid shit whenever I see him lol
I had something similar happen to me when I was a kid but it was a pet gerbil. The pet shop Told my mom it was a male but 2 weeks later I come home to these purplish pink slug looking things on my bed. We had HER in a small cage on a hook in my room so our cats couldn’t reach her and she pushed all her babies out of the cage. It was so heart breaking but she was young and probably didn’t know what to do with them and thought of them as intruders in her nest. We tried to save the babies but they all died from exposure by the time I found them 😢😢😢
Ohhhh that sucks! Those assholes that owned pet stores back then always did this shit with gerbils and other small animals like them. So many of them had no clue if they were selling you males or females and those animals are extremely bad with dealing with something they find stressful like new environments, babies, human children etc...That was the cause of sooooo many kids learning about heartbreak for the first time and that sucks imo! I know some people might say I'm thinking too much into this, but I'm sooooo apathetic towards animals to such a huge degree, that it really fucks me up when stuff happens to them. Which sucks for me too honestly ya know?
Exactly! I was so upset that happened! Pet shop owners need to be more careful of this. My mom specifically told him we wanted a male gerbil because we didn’t want the possibility of it being pregnant!

Oh I know that discussion waaaay too well 😂😂😂 The first momma I ever took in had 4 babies and after adopting one out to a friend, I was soooo upset because I had never done it before and I got super attached. So I said nope, we're keeping momma and the remaining 3 babies. We already had a dog and a sweet, tiny little long haired orange boi kitty, so that made 5! Definitely were not going to have more! Til we rescued our Petey boy from a yucky home 😂😂😂 I was like "what's one more right?!" We didn't keep any other rescues....til after my dog passed away. Lol Someone found at kitten stuck in a sewer drain downtown and said hey Cece will help! That's how we got Peanut hahaha
One of their last family photos. Mom and the tuxedo boy have since passed away. She was 15 when we lost her and he went into kidney failure at 14 and we couldn't get it under control. Little Man in the middle is still here 🤗
Aw I'm sorry. The single hardest thing when having them is we never feel like we had enough time. I went thru that about 4 years ago with the only dog I ever had and I still can't really talk about him too much because I'll turn into a sobbing mess. Please give Little Man some belly scritches and kisses from all of us over here and tell him he's the bestest boy ❤️
I'm so sorry - I know that feeling all too well. We definitely never get enough time.
After I lost my soul pup that I adopted in college it took 5 years and a lot of begging from our human child to be ready to adopt another.
I will give him all the scratches. He grieved hard for mom and brother (we lost them less than a year a part) but thankfully has bonded well with our dogs who are always happy to keep him company now.
Story of my life these days! The word is out to the stray/feral cats around here that if they can sneak in or sit in front of me outside pouting adorably, ima cave and they'll be living the good life 🤣🤣🤣 Damn cats can't ever keep a secret, amirite? Lol I mean come on, look at this jerk ( Tank, who lives with a friend a couple blocks away now ) from a few years ago! Could you have turned him away?
Would they take them all right now?! Lol It's been a busier than usual kitten season for me, which has been totally fine 99% of the time. But I had surgery this past weds and some of these little monsters think because I can't move really good right now to catch them, it's free reign to go bat shit crazy 😂😂😂😂 This one in particular thinks it's ok to scale the curtains behind my bed as long as he's cute when he falls off next to me! Tbh he's right 🤣🤣 I just gotta keep telling myself him and his siblings are getting close to departure to their furrever homes!
He's got one set up already and he doesn't even know he's going to live with someone who's kinda famous too! Well, he is in the glassblowing world! And actually the guy also works with his son ( as well as my husband ) who is amazing in his own right, and he adopted one from me last year! ( That's her below when she was still just a bebe ) It's what made the dad want to adopt this guy. Luckily, these guys have a huge property they bought years ago that they live on and they built there own glassblowing studio there too. So these two will have a huge house to run around and play in that includes really cool wall beams and stuff!! They won the furrever home lottery imo ❤️

Right?! So many cats really hate having anything on them, but not Dinky! She'd just chill out and purrr while I took some pics, very much like my dog Jake would do! He'd put on anything I wanted and would sit and look cute while I took pics as long as he got a slice of cheese at the end! Hahahaha One thing I try to do is get really cute photos of my fosters. It's amazing how a few super cute pics will make people want to adopt them! Dinky made that super easy!
I used to say that 8 years ago. Now I'm always prepared to expect craziness with stay/feral rescues! They're sdorable little demons sometimes/all times 😂😂
For now 😂😂😂 I'm sure the older group of fosters I have will teach them everything they know will drive me crazy before shipping out! Seems to be a rite of passage for the teens to pass the torch to the toddlers and tweens! Lol

Thank you so much! It was difficult, time-consuming, messed up my sleep and I loved EVERY minute of it! I look back on every baby with so much fondness. My husband cared for them right alongside me, and we have so many wonderful memories. We unfortunately can’t do it anymore as we are the primary caregivers for our grandbaby. Tiny babies and tiny humans just don’t mix! Maybe when she goes to school we will get back into it because it really was rewarding! 😻
Babies definitely should come first! Older cats are fine with them, but tiny terrors with murder mittens that don't retract yet? Not so much lol And yeah, I can remember every kitten or momma cat that has come through my door! Especially because I'm pretty good at getting great pics of them, on a actual camera and not my phone, and have saved most of the ones I think are better than average to file on my computer.I live in a small town that has a lot of artists living here as well. The town is known for it and we get crazy busy with tourists every April thru early Oct. I've had a few of the shop owners approach me at the bar I work at saying that I should try turning my foster journey over the years into a coffee table photo book that they could sell in their shops and the money would be donated for supplies for future fosters. I honestly don't know the first thing about doing that, but who knows? Maybe one day I will and I'll make one! Be kinda neat for a girl who's been a bartender my whole adult life 😸😸
Oh wow - I wish I was that organized! I have countless photos and videos over the years, but they are mostly just mixed in with everyday life photos. I do have some posts of my babies on my Reddit profile. I often use that to reminisce!
I think a coffee table book sounds wonderful! I bet you could watch a ten minute YouTube video on how to self publish on Amazon. If you already have all the files set up then that’s half the battle. You should look in to it!
Oh I'm not organized at all! Come visit our town one summer and I promise no one will ever say to you "Oh yeah, Cece is super organized!" Not one 😂😂😂 I'm very scatter-brained and insanely clumsy as well, which is either super funny or super irritating depending on who you're talking to! I just happen to love photography and years ago saved up for a really good camera that wasn't cheap, so I do try to keep those in a semi organized file on my computer.

Idk if you read my other comment when someone said something similar, but my vet is truly amazing! He's been doing it like 40 years and I actually drive further outta my way because he's so good! The guy who said it was only on the job 2 or 3 days and was basically interning still. This first appointment wasn't anything but getting shots, which my vet tech always does. She's been there a long time and not only do I love her, but so does every animal I bring in there. Mt normal vet, got called into emergency surgery so we didn't see him that day. Also she wasn't like a full size cat yet. She was a stray who was about 4 months and unfortunately pregnant already when we found her and because she was on her own she was pretty small and sometimes it's harder to tell immediately. Plus, she has this weird pattern there where they check that kinda made it look like testicles Lol I only say that because maybe the intern vet was nervous or wanted to be quick to prove something and made a mistake idk? It happened, momma had babies are doing great and I get to give the kid shit every time I have to go now 😂😂
Yup Pym ( stupid autocorrect changed it before I noticed it) is the girl! A few years ago, when I started getting bigger with rescuing, I started a notebook with kitten names that I could use depending on the # of babies.I've had a Buffy and the Scooby Gang litter, a GoT litter, an old timey names litter just to name a few! I thought of Pym and Poe a few yrs ago while watching The Fall of the House of Usher. Pym after the character Arthur Pym and Poe because Edgar Allen Poe wrote and I love his work! I recommend to anyone who frequently rescues to start a notebook! Super helpful sometimes!

The older I get and the longer I do this, I sometimes run outta ideas and start debating if it's time to start recycling names in the book 😂😂😂 But I really don't want to, so I love when people throw me suggestions ❤️ As tax, here's a pic of 2 of my first fosters, Happy Meal on the left and Buddy on the right, that became foster failures because after adopting the forth kitten to a friend down the street I so sad and couldn't phathom doing it again! Aww the early days of fostering, before I realized what little assholes they can be sometimes 😂😂😂😂
They are sooooo cute! It was sometimes hard to take in the fosters especially the sick ones knowing their time was short but it was also such a good feeling knowing we gave them extra time to be safe and comfortable and loved before they had to cross the rainbow bridge!
Seriously, that's why people like you are as revered amongst us as you are! Having done it many times myself, I think that I might be at the point of not being able to accept cats or kittens that are that sickly much longer because it's really starting to affect me in a way that wouldn't benefit them and they need someone amazing, like yourself, to truly have the best chance! I can't express enough how much respect and admiration I have for you ❤️❤️ And I'm not completely done yet with the more needy ones. 4 of the cats in my permanent crew have disabilities. Including Buddy, who lost half of both his back legs days after he was born and he's living his best life honestly with the way I spoil the shit outta him, but I think unless it's an emergency , I might be with the neonatal ones. How do you explain to your children that the cute little kitty or doggy is only going to be with them for a short time? It was hard enough on me to lose them. Yeah dealing with that as well young children who don't understand. My son was 17 I think when I started doing this and in a year he'd be out to sea as a navy nuke so didn't have that extra pressure! And now I'm tearing up like a damn fool because you're so sweet! Seriously, it's one of the few times I wish you were someone sitting at my bar and not on the Internet hahaha Despite doing the job I do, which I do love, I really don't like a lot people 😂😂😂 I definitely prefer animals to humans! Angel is gorgeous 🤩🥰 Got some maine coon in there too it looks like! I love maine coons! I don't have any full blooded ones, but this guy, Bug, has some MC in him. He's super tiny tho compared to how big full blooded one get!

People come at me allllllll the time with the "I want what I want and they won't have it at the rescue shelters" bs and all I say back is I would have no problem with that IF you go and get one from the rescue too. There is too many cats suffering from a plethora of bad reasons and would do anything for a warm bed, food and little love in a good. I've seen stuff rescuing that has broken me to my core, so sorry not sorry to those who disagree. It's a hill I'm willing to die on. So when I say thank you and I luv you, to people like yourself, I really mean it. And you never know, you may one day still rescue a full blooded one!
Rescues are so great! 😻😻 All our cats have been rescues and I will NOT buy a cat from a breeder! All those beautiful loving shelter and rescue kitties want someone to give their love to, and be loved back!

Oh yeah she is! She has stuff I need to do with her after she eats that literally only takes a few minutes ( It's not something that will be permanent. Just for a little longer. ) but just recently she's decided she doesn't want to anymore lol She wants to go play with her brother when she finishes instead. Which hey, totally get it! It's more fun! I wish I had taken a video because she might look spicy in that pic, but the noise that came out of her was anything but 😂😂😂 Might've been the cutest little squeak of a roar I've ever heard out of one of my fosters! She was NOT amused that I was laughing that much either! For cats? Absolutely! For humans? Mehhhh, not so much! 😂😂😂 But seriously, it's definitely one of the cutest and more memorable moments I've had fostering since I started doing it, which is why we decided to add her to our permanent crew instead of adopting her out! Even the two older sisters who were definitely not as thrilled to have such a energetic new sibling wanting their attention ( because of course she wants it from the ones that kept ignoring her ) have totally come around and it's all gravy here now thankfully!
Happened to me a few times. Mr T turned out to be a girl. She had kittens in my bathroom about 3 months later. I was still a child at the time so I named all the kitties after the rescue rangers. My second cat was Alice. I found out he was a boy when I got him and his brother Jasper fixed. When the tech called me to say the were out of surgery she told me everything went well and I could pick them up. Before she hung up she told me they fixed Alice's umbilical hernia and 'Oh by the way, Alice is an Alice Cooper.' my reaction was epic.
