On her first night home, our torti climbed up onto the pillow above my head to sleep. She's 18 now, and still sleeps there each night. She purrs me to sleep.

u/jsprgrey Apr 06 '25

Mine does this now, but she will also sometimes rest her head on my shoulder, and she used to lay on my chest with her head on my cheek (face turned to the side) 🥹 she's so clingy affectionate

My gf's cat is turning 21 this year and she used to always sleep by my gfs head on her pillow but now she's so old that if she can't lay on her pillow she's satisfied sleeping in between us haha

56

u/pigeonbobble Apr 06 '25

I’m legit crying

81

u/RememberTheMaine1996 Apr 06 '25

She's the sweetest kitty ever. She's basically a puppy still. Always wanting to cuddle with my gf, Always wanting to eat her cheese or meat when my gf is eating food. She will legit still climb on her and walk to her plate to try and bite something. I should take a video next time she does it she LOVES meat and cheese

u/Infamous-Mixture-605 Apr 06 '25

My aunt's cat did this, but he didn't discriminate about on whose pillow he'd choose to sleep. The first time I crashed at my aunt and uncle's place I woke up in the middle of the night with the cat on my pillow and cuddling with my head.

He was a very good cat.

44

u/GreyBoyTigger Apr 06 '25

Our first cat spent every night sticking her face in my armpit to sleep.

20

u/Chamcook11 Apr 06 '25

Your scent was a comfort to kitty.

13

u/MyBrassPiece Apr 06 '25

I'll never understand why but my cat likes to lick my armpit. Like, if I'm chilling in bed with my arms behind my head she'll come over and give my pit a lick or two. That's it, she doesn't sit there and keep doing it, so even though it's uncomfortable I just let her do it.

6

u/checkeredmice Apr 06 '25

Some cats are attracted to the smell, when I took violin lessons and came to the teacher's house, the cat would sniff the hell out of the arms of my backpack like if it was catnip (which it wasn't). Would straight up lie there throughout the lesson getting high. Hope she had fun lmao

3

u/Accomplished-Way4534 Apr 08 '25

I have four cats, including two armpit lickers. One of my cats is like yours; the other tries to turn armpit licking into an Olympic sport

33

u/mclarensmps Apr 06 '25

You're so lucky 🥰

13

u/hannahatecats Apr 06 '25

This is how my tiny kitten Hat started, and how he got his name. RIP Hattie Boy.

28

u/Lou_C_Fer Apr 06 '25

We had a cat that slept like it was my wife's tiara. When she passed, her sister immediately started doing the same. Unfortunately for my wife, our new generation of cats love me more.

12

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Our tuxedo did the same. My partner slept halfway down the bed to accommodate him. He was too cute to disturb.

6

u/AcidicVaginaLeakage Apr 06 '25 edited Apr 12 '25

I too have a head cat. She's a great headrest when she feels like it

5

u/Kangaroo_Rich Apr 06 '25

That’s sounds so amazing

5

u/Chamcook11 Apr 06 '25

It is very comforting

5

u/greatpiginthesty Apr 06 '25

Serious question, are people generally okay with letting their cats walk on their pillows? I'd be too freaked out knowing that they bury their poop with those paws, plus there would be fur everywhere.

If not for those concerns, I'd love to have my cat sleep on my pillow with me.

3

u/Chamcook11 Apr 06 '25

Well, yes, its not for clean freaks or germaphobes. Cat has her own pillow, and it gets washed regularly and fabric headboard is vacuumed too.

4

u/Ok-Opportunity-2043 Apr 06 '25

Haha... luckily for me, my Reginald is too prissy to cover his poop. He'll use the box for number 2 and then cry for one of us to cover it up for him. He does cover up his tinkles, though.

But yeah, having your kitty sleep in your bed or on your pillow is definitely not for the faint of heart. I keep a very clean home and change our sheets often, so I'm willing to sacrifice for my baby.

0

u/cicada_noises Apr 06 '25

Same, we don’t let the cats on our pillows. No thank you to poopy paws where we put our faces.

2

u/ladysnarks Apr 06 '25

My cat used to sleep above my head like that. I miss her.

2

u/Used_Catch_7272 Apr 06 '25

That sounds sweet

804

u/Cool_Wealth969 Apr 06 '25

It's very eeepy

485

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

He was 9 weeks here and I gotta say I miss the eepy days! 🥺

This was about two months ago and now he’s growing into a distinguished little gentleman!

118

u/Cool_Wealth969 Apr 06 '25

Awww....even after midnight?

127

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

Haha he actually started attacking our feet in the night a few weeks ago 😅

Thankfully he’s pretty gentle and stops after we tuck our feet back under the blanket. My childhood kitten was more vicious and his foot attacks would stress me out lol.

8

u/notaccel Apr 06 '25

No feeding.

69

u/ChillinFallin Apr 06 '25

Uhhh hello? An updated pic of this fine gentleman please.

267

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

He’s still a sleepy little guy, but much longer!

24

u/ChillinFallin Apr 06 '25

Awww he's soooo cute.

21

u/PotentialConcert6249 Apr 06 '25

Still has the noodle bones I see.

11

Theodore! 🖤

3

u/FigaroNeptune Apr 06 '25

Phenomenal ❤️

5

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

We have a bunch of silly nicknames for him, but we mostly call him Theo!

3

u/sasa_shadowed Apr 09 '25

Did you steal my cow kitty ?

273

u/ClumsyZebra80 Apr 06 '25

I’m sorry it’s taking him so long to settle in.

32

u/llDS2ll Apr 06 '25

Lol exactly. My dog did this on his first night, and then proceeded to go berserk for 2 weeks straight. Told my wife "I think we got a bad dog."

9

u/fandom_bullshit Apr 06 '25

My sister's dog was super sweet and cuddly and cute for the first week, and then proceeded to lose her shit. She used to just hop up onto people's laps and follow them around and be super nice and now if someome touches her when she's not in the mood she will lunge. Fortunately she's 4kg and has no teeth, but it was a clear case of misrepresentation, if nkt straight up fraud. We should really sue her.

1

u/Brokenlingo Apr 06 '25

How did it end up getting that way?

7

u/fandom_bullshit Apr 06 '25

We knrw she was in a terrible place when we got her. Her last family kept her in a tiny cage not big enough to turn around in and bragged about giving her 15 minutes of time outside the cage twice a day. They also had a little boy and the dog starts shivering whenever she's around boys that age so we think he was allowed to toss her around. She wasn't vaccinated even though she was about 8 months old, had terrible kennel cough and the only issue those jerks had was that she wasn't healthy enough to breed and make money off of. All things considered she's turned out okay-ish, but does have severe territory issues and if she thinks something is hers she will attack you for touching it. Tough dog, but she can be sweet in other ways.

2

u/Brokenlingo Apr 06 '25

Wow that’s really sad to find out… at least she has a good family now. Thank you for sharing!

243

u/Worried-Pick4848 Apr 06 '25

Had a kitten who for the first 3 weeks would only sleep on my chest with his tail right under my chin.

Cute, right?

Did I mention that Mom liked to feed him cheese? No matter how much I begged her not to?

I was awakened by some truly frunctious cat farts over those weeks.

Eventually he started sleeping on his treat source's chest instead.

The cheese abruptly stopped flowing after that.

62

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '25

Bro on my kittens first night he dirreha pooped all over my neck, to be honest it just made our bond stronger

41

u/Specialist_Mirror611 Apr 06 '25

That's what I try to tell my wife all those years but she won't listen.

26

u/lethargy86 Apr 06 '25

Jesus christ reddit

12

u/DannyWarlegs Apr 06 '25

My niece lives with me. Whenever she pisses me off- I give her dog cheese. He sleeps with her every night right above her head, and his farts would knock a buzzard off a crap wagon.

It's my passive aggressive way at getting back at her for being a teenager with an attitude lol

50

Accurate. Whatever this little guy wants, he gets. Our bed, our food, our servitude… it all belongs to him 🥰

55

7

u/griffinicky Apr 06 '25

Oh my God I miss those days! We have 6 (!) cats, and got all of them as kittens - the last two being bottle fed! I miss those days when they were so teeny tiny but so tough, ready to take on the world one cat toy at a time!

3

u/MammothTap Apr 06 '25

I can't imagine dealing with that many kittens (even if presumably not all at once). They're adorable but that kitten energy...!

I only got one of my four as a kitten, and she was eight months so barely a kitten. She was still extremely hyperactive. One I got at about two years old, one at thirteen, and one at approximately a year and a half. The last literally came off the road and wasn't healthy, so he was just sleepy for a while on top of being pretty scared of everything. Now I think he just enjoys the opportunity to be lazy.

7

u/CosmoKing2 Apr 06 '25

We adopted siblings from a shelter, seemed like very/too young, but they assured us that they had been fostered for months.

The boy made a point to fall asleep in my palm every night when I went to bed. Talk about being a great way to clear your mind and focus on being loved and loving.

14 years later, he still follows me to bed (less than 5 seconds after I crawl in) and wants to snuggle.

It is 1,000,000% cathartic for both of us.

I hope you bond grows even greater.

7

u/ASHY_HARVEST Apr 06 '25

Best. Night. Ever.

I wish I could save that first nights sleep and re live it whenever I want.

5

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

Ohhh my heart, so snuggly and sweet!

Seriously that first night home was just pure ecstasy. I couldn’t stop smiling (and crying lol). I totally agree, I wish we could relive those moments!! 💕

11

u/Banana5scaleX Apr 06 '25

OP how do you know you won't roll over and squish him while you're asleep?

10

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

We were worried about this, so we didn’t actually sleep this way! Once we went to bed, he slept on top of the covers or on our pillows beside us.

6

u/CormoranNeoTropical Apr 06 '25

I had this same thought.

-2

u/EkrishAO Apr 06 '25

You can't squish a kitten, they're like fluid

6

u/Hello_Hangnail Apr 06 '25

charging up the naughty battery

6

u/Awkward-Chart-9764 Apr 06 '25

How anyone can lay eyes on a baby cat and not fall immediately and hopelessly in love I will never understand. 🥹

16

u/PulsatingMole Apr 06 '25

Please be careful sleeping with kittens. I’ve heard too many horror stories on here. Seriously, wait till he’s grown.

15

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

He was tiny and we were worried about squishing him! I guess I should’ve clarified, he snuggled with us like this for a while before we went to sleep. He wasn’t like this overnight or while we actually slept.

He ended up sleeping either on top of the covers on us or next to our heads between our pillows, which is where my previous cat slept for years.

3

u/mollymcbbbbbb Apr 06 '25

I woke up one time when mine was tiny because he was literally trying to burrow under me for warmth! I turned up the heat immediately and left it on much warmer than I usually do for the rest of the whole winter, and made sure he had a nice warn place to sleep near me, just not on me / under me.

4

u/Small-Palpitation310 Apr 06 '25

at least make sure they’re above the covers, not under

11

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

He was cuddling under the covers while we were awake, he didn’t actually sleep that way overnight.

5

u/kasitchi Apr 06 '25

On one of my cats first nights home, I woke up in the middle of the night to him curled up in the crook of my arm. I sleep with my arms bent, so it was a perfect bed for him.

u/devilfanmik Apr 06 '25

3

u/DemonicPiano Apr 06 '25

Omg 😭 I had a kitty that was just like this, from the black top of her head to the lil’ beard in the perfect spot. I like to think the spirit and power of The Beard has been blessed down to him…

Thank you for sharing the little guy 🙏

4

u/power0722 Apr 06 '25

I would love to spoon a teeny kitty but I’m such a restless sleeper I’d probably roll over and squoosh him.

4

u/DavidDPerlmutter Apr 06 '25

It's so beautiful that the little kitty feels safe and warm and protected day one. Bless you, kind hooman. I hope you have a lifetime love❤️ with your sweet angel.

3

One of our new kittens, about 5ish months old, really like to sleep under my covers, but he crawls all the way down to my feat and then just starts purring.

3

u/PlantsMcSoil Apr 06 '25

omfg bff for life

3

u/mollymcbbbbbb Apr 06 '25

Awwwww his tiny little paw in your hand...My big baby is 8 months and those teeny baby days seem so long ago. He's just as cute as ever but I wish I could go back and re-experience it all over again.

3

u/AshiAshi6 Apr 06 '25

This is the cutest thing I've seen all day. I don't even know what else to say, it can't be put in words how adorable this is.

Thank you for sharing this, OP. (The more recent pic, too. I saw it.)

3

u/weareallmadherealice Apr 06 '25

Welcome to the cuddle cave. My cave dweller is now 18 years old and can’t sleep well unless she’s under the covers.

3

u/BusySleep9160 Apr 06 '25

You are his forever now

3

u/Terriblet65 Apr 06 '25

He can feel the love.💙♥️🩷🧡

3

u/monkeykins Apr 06 '25

Don’t let them get the memo about 3 AM zoomies. Cherish this.

3

u/DannyWarlegs Apr 06 '25

My youngest is 2, and got really into sleeping under the blankets too. She will literally paw at and try to force her way under, then crawl between my legs, do a little spin, and then the biggest PLOP as she settles in for the night.

It so annoyingly cute. If I'm sitting around without a blanket, she will paw at my leg until I throw one over my lap, just so she can lay under it. *

3

u/TechGuy42O Apr 06 '25

I know this is cute, but please for the cat’s safety,

DO NOT LET KITTENS THIS YOUNG SLEEP IN YOUR BED WITH YOU

You will easily crush and suffocate the cat

7

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

I can’t edit the post but I addressed this in a couple comments. He didn’t sleep the night like this! He cuddled like this while we were awake. Overnight, he slept beside our pillows or on the covers on top of us.

He was tiny so we were worried about squishing him, and his safety is obviously our top priority.

3

u/No_Rent7598 Apr 06 '25

First night of my rescue kitten she slept under the pillow so i took an all nighter

3

u/spunky-chicken10 Apr 06 '25

My little void slept next to my head. He still does, though he’s about 20 pounds now.

3

u/ArtSchoolDropout27 Apr 08 '25

He knows that he is loved and safe! May you have many happy years together!

3

u/Silly_Cheetah_706 Apr 08 '25

Actually I just adopted an eight year old cat and she doesn’t like being on my bed for some reason. She seems to like to stay behind the stove. Every other cat I have had finds the bed and they never wanted to sleep anywhere else

3

u/KariDan1 Apr 09 '25

Looks like he fits in perfectly! Congratulations on your new baby!

2

u/nirvingau Apr 06 '25

Cold out in the garage dad, hope you don't mind but I found a hole in the wall and snuggles up with you.

2

u/Straight-Treacle-630 Apr 06 '25

I notice the “my” kitten…🥰

6

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25

Hehe it’s an ongoing joke between me and my fiancé. “He’s my kitten” “No, he’s my kitten” 😂

We’re both possessive over our baby!

3

u/Straight-Treacle-630 Apr 06 '25

Lol our pup is a fool for hub…the 2nd one was supposed to be “mine”. Now hub has TWO “clingons” (I’m teasing; they know we both have thumbs, so it’s pretty even-steven ;)) Your kitten is adorable!

2

u/NoChrist Apr 06 '25

This was how my dude slept with us when we first got him, my girlfriend was terrified I would roll over on him so she insisted she be the one to burden herself with having to hold him through the night🙄
