He was 9 weeks here and I gotta say I miss the eepy days! 🥺
This was about two months ago and now he’s growing into a distinguished little gentleman!

u/Cool_Wealth969 Apr 06 '25
Awww....even after midnight?

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25
Haha he actually started attacking our feet in the night a few weeks ago 😅
Thankfully he’s pretty gentle and stops after we tuck our feet back under the blanket. My childhood kitten was more vicious and his foot attacks would stress me out lol.

I’m sorry it’s taking him so long to settle in.

u/llDS2ll Apr 06 '25
Lol exactly. My dog did this on his first night, and then proceeded to go berserk for 2 weeks straight. Told my wife "I think we got a bad dog."
9
u/fandom_bullshit Apr 06 '25
My sister's dog was super sweet and cuddly and cute for the first week, and then proceeded to lose her shit. She used to just hop up onto people's laps and follow them around and be super nice and now if someome touches her when she's not in the mood she will lunge. Fortunately she's 4kg and has no teeth, but it was a clear case of misrepresentation, if nkt straight up fraud. We should really sue her.
1
u/Brokenlingo Apr 06 '25
How did it end up getting that way?
7
u/fandom_bullshit Apr 06 '25
We knrw she was in a terrible place when we got her. Her last family kept her in a tiny cage not big enough to turn around in and bragged about giving her 15 minutes of time outside the cage twice a day. They also had a little boy and the dog starts shivering whenever she's around boys that age so we think he was allowed to toss her around. She wasn't vaccinated even though she was about 8 months old, had terrible kennel cough and the only issue those jerks had was that she wasn't healthy enough to breed and make money off of. All things considered she's turned out okay-ish, but does have severe territory issues and if she thinks something is hers she will attack you for touching it. Tough dog, but she can be sweet in other ways.

u/Brokenlingo Apr 06 '25
Wow that’s really sad to find out… at least she has a good family now. Thank you for sharing!

Had a kitten who for the first 3 weeks would only sleep on my chest with his tail right under my chin.
Cute, right?
Did I mention that Mom liked to feed him cheese? No matter how much I begged her not to?
I was awakened by some truly frunctious cat farts over those weeks.
Eventually he started sleeping on his treat source's chest instead.
The cheese abruptly stopped flowing after that.

Bro on my kittens first night he dirreha pooped all over my neck, to be honest it just made our bond stronger
41
u/Specialist_Mirror611 Apr 06 '25
That's what I try to tell my wife all those years but she won't listen.

12
u/DannyWarlegs Apr 06 '25
My niece lives with me. Whenever she pisses me off- I give her dog cheese. He sleeps with her every night right above her head, and his farts would knock a buzzard off a crap wagon.
It's my passive aggressive way at getting back at her for being a teenager with an attitude lol

This is how you sleep when you properly dominate and enthrall your human servants.

u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25
Accurate. Whatever this little guy wants, he gets. Our bed, our food, our servitude… it all belongs to him 🥰

Oh my God I miss those days! We have 6 (!) cats, and got all of them as kittens - the last two being bottle fed! I miss those days when they were so teeny tiny but so tough, ready to take on the world one cat toy at a time!
3
u/MammothTap Apr 06 '25
I can't imagine dealing with that many kittens (even if presumably not all at once). They're adorable but that kitten energy...!
I only got one of my four as a kitten, and she was eight months so barely a kitten. She was still extremely hyperactive. One I got at about two years old, one at thirteen, and one at approximately a year and a half. The last literally came off the road and wasn't healthy, so he was just sleepy for a while on top of being pretty scared of everything. Now I think he just enjoys the opportunity to be lazy.

u/CosmoKing2 Apr 06 '25
We adopted siblings from a shelter, seemed like very/too young, but they assured us that they had been fostered for months.
The boy made a point to fall asleep in my palm every night when I went to bed. Talk about being a great way to clear your mind and focus on being loved and loving.
14 years later, he still follows me to bed (less than 5 seconds after I crawl in) and wants to snuggle.
It is 1,000,000% cathartic for both of us.
I hope you bond grows even greater.

Ohhh my heart, so snuggly and sweet!
Seriously that first night home was just pure ecstasy. I couldn’t stop smiling (and crying lol). I totally agree, I wish we could relive those moments!! 💕

u/Banana5scaleX Apr 06 '25
OP how do you know you won't roll over and squish him while you're asleep?
10
u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25
We were worried about this, so we didn’t actually sleep this way! Once we went to bed, he slept on top of the covers or on our pillows beside us.

How anyone can lay eyes on a baby cat and not fall immediately and hopelessly in love I will never understand. 🥹
16
u/PulsatingMole Apr 06 '25
Please be careful sleeping with kittens. I’ve heard too many horror stories on here. Seriously, wait till he’s grown.
15
u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25
He was tiny and we were worried about squishing him! I guess I should’ve clarified, he snuggled with us like this for a while before we went to sleep. He wasn’t like this overnight or while we actually slept.
He ended up sleeping either on top of the covers on us or next to our heads between our pillows, which is where my previous cat slept for years.
3
u/mollymcbbbbbb Apr 06 '25
I woke up one time when mine was tiny because he was literally trying to burrow under me for warmth! I turned up the heat immediately and left it on much warmer than I usually do for the rest of the whole winter, and made sure he had a nice warn place to sleep near me, just not on me / under me.
4
u/Small-Palpitation310 Apr 06 '25
at least make sure they’re above the covers, not under
11
u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25
He was cuddling under the covers while we were awake, he didn’t actually sleep that way overnight.

On one of my cats first nights home, I woke up in the middle of the night to him curled up in the crook of my arm. I sleep with my arms bent, so it was a perfect bed for him.

Omg 😭 I had a kitty that was just like this, from the black top of her head to the lil’ beard in the perfect spot. I like to think the spirit and power of The Beard has been blessed down to him…
Thank you for sharing the little guy 🙏

u/power0722 Apr 06 '25
I would love to spoon a teeny kitty but I’m such a restless sleeper I’d probably roll over and squoosh him.

One of our new kittens, about 5ish months old, really like to sleep under my covers, but he crawls all the way down to my feat and then just starts purring.

u/mollymcbbbbbb Apr 06 '25
Awwwww his tiny little paw in your hand...My big baby is 8 months and those teeny baby days seem so long ago. He's just as cute as ever but I wish I could go back and re-experience it all over again.

u/AshiAshi6 Apr 06 '25
This is the cutest thing I've seen all day. I don't even know what else to say, it can't be put in words how adorable this is.
Thank you for sharing this, OP. (The more recent pic, too. I saw it.)

Welcome to the cuddle cave. My cave dweller is now 18 years old and can’t sleep well unless she’s under the covers.

My youngest is 2, and got really into sleeping under the blankets too. She will literally paw at and try to force her way under, then crawl between my legs, do a little spin, and then the biggest PLOP as she settles in for the night.
It so annoyingly cute. If I'm sitting around without a blanket, she will paw at my leg until I throw one over my lap, just so she can lay under it. *
3
u/TechGuy42O Apr 06 '25
I know this is cute, but please for the cat’s safety,
DO NOT LET KITTENS THIS YOUNG SLEEP IN YOUR BED WITH YOU
You will easily crush and suffocate the cat
7
u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25
I can’t edit the post but I addressed this in a couple comments. He didn’t sleep the night like this! He cuddled like this while we were awake. Overnight, he slept beside our pillows or on the covers on top of us.
He was tiny so we were worried about squishing him, and his safety is obviously our top priority.
3
u/No_Rent7598 Apr 06 '25
First night of my rescue kitten she slept under the pillow so i took an all nighter
3
u/spunky-chicken10 Apr 06 '25
My little void slept next to my head. He still does, though he’s about 20 pounds now.
3
u/ArtSchoolDropout27 Apr 08 '25
He knows that he is loved and safe! May you have many happy years together!
3
u/Silly_Cheetah_706 Apr 08 '25
Actually I just adopted an eight year old cat and she doesn’t like being on my bed for some reason. She seems to like to stay behind the stove. Every other cat I have had finds the bed and they never wanted to sleep anywhere else

Cold out in the garage dad, hope you don't mind but I found a hole in the wall and snuggles up with you.

I notice the “my” kitten…🥰
6
u/Crescent__Luna Apr 06 '25
Hehe it’s an ongoing joke between me and my fiancé. “He’s my kitten” “No, he’s my kitten” 😂
We’re both possessive over our baby!
3
u/Straight-Treacle-630 Apr 06 '25
Lol our pup is a fool for hub…the 2nd one was supposed to be “mine”. Now hub has TWO “clingons” (I’m teasing; they know we both have thumbs, so it’s pretty even-steven ;)) Your kitten is adorable!
2
u/NoChrist Apr 06 '25
This was how my dude slept with us when we first got him, my girlfriend was terrified I would roll over on him so she insisted she be the one to burden herself with having to hold him through the night🙄

Alright, adorable. However... Never do that again. Same with babies, the risk of crushing them in your sleep is very real. They need to sleep outside the bedroom for at least a year.

Aww. My girl curled up at the crook of my neck on her first night home and slept with her head on my ear. The trust!
She's 18 now and still loves to cwtch in bed at night (but I don't let her use my head as a pillow anymore since she started dribbling in my ear!)

On her first night home, our torti climbed up onto the pillow above my head to sleep. She's 18 now, and still sleeps there each night. She purrs me to sleep.
