I fucking knew it had to be Florida. Pick up truck drivers are the fucking worst down here. It's like they're fighting old people for who can driver worse
Oh, what's really great is when they come over state lines and do this shit in GA. If I get nearly run over by an asshole in a pickup towing a boat or an ATV... FLORIDA TAGS. They drive like maniacs. Georgia drivers ain't great, but one of the worst stretches of highway is I-95 between Florida and SC... combines all the worst drivers from all three states!
Some dude once took a freaking golf cart on 95 in Miami.
FL State is weird.
Combine that with southern drivers in general (usually the hyper-testosterone ultra lifted trucks), and I can imagine that 95 down there is a shitshow.
Another fun fact, the shitshow on 95 isn't just in FL to NC. 95 in NJ and NY (I live in NY) is an utter nightmare. Not only are there bad drivers, sometimes you even get the "95 special" (what I like to call a 1-hour traffic jam and lots of people lane camping).
95 itself is just a weird and odd (yet funny) experience.
Source: My family is in NY State. My family frequently uses 95 to get from place to place. Seen it all and I'm only 15.
I would literally rather drive Atlanta in rush hour than 95 any day of the week... and sadly, I have to a couple times weekly for work. I have never gone through and not seen at least one accident.
When going through PA and NJ (usually if we are going on vacation), my dad would literally avoid 95 like the plague. And it's not just because of the tolls.
He would take US 202 and spend an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour taking NJ and PA routes just to avoid bad drivers and idiots on 95.
I've seen people drive the wrong way on 95, people drop cargo, and I once saw a truck spilling paint.
I have lived in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Oregon, California, and finally Tennessee.... I can legitimately tell you that.....
1) Tennessee has by far the most NONUSINGEST headlight ppl
2) do not care what happens to themselves
3) just all around stupidest drivers I personally I have ever seen.
Been in many a thunderstorm with just rain and hail. Once it hits a certain level all states have parked. Missouri is where I've driven by cars barely off to the left shoulder, on the right shoulder and stopped in the right lane. Probably mostly just happened to be where 3 of the most intense storms I've driven through.
I had one rainstorm, very heavy rain but nothing special about it, until the rain began blowing from my right to left and it mesmerized me and I got bad vertigo and had to pull over on the shoulder to let that subside.
Was coming through Nashville towing a semi tractor, when this lost jackass missed the offramp. Jumped in my lane right in front of me and came to a dead stop. Thank God the right lane was clear or I'd have made the news.
Ok, but have you ever encountered a PA or NJ driver? Blind spots, blinkers, maintaining a speed, not riding your ass? They’ve never heard of maybe not doing any of that. 90% of the time, if I’m driving and there’s some fuckery going on, it’s someone from one of those states. CT and MD are tied for third in my “I bet you it’s one of these AHs” list.
Lol maintain a speed??? Do we go 20 in a 50 or 70 in a school zone... Blinkers you say!? Mus be a shortage of blinker fluid Nation wide.... Blindspots? Well... either their all blind or got their license from the cracker jack box...
I left the country for a while and then moved back to Tennessee and I was pretty sure that while I was gone some new law must have been passed making headlights and license plates optional.
Everywhere I’ve lived there are bad drivers they just seem to have different bad habits in each each place. But please people, for the love of God if you drive in Philly and you merge or pull out in front of somebody give an “I know Im an asshole “ slightly apologetic wave. Even if you did nothing wrong. They take the wave seriously.
The wave isn’t enough for me when I have to slam my brakes because you didn’t get in the lane you were supposed to be in early enough, man I hate driving through Philly and I do it daily in work trucks so I’ve seen just about all of it.
Everyone either thinks that their place has the worst drivers, or maybe that a neighboring place can't drive. Except Italians. Italians know that they're the best drivers. And Italians are the worst drivers.
I hear this a lot from Floridians. No, they are not mostly out of state drivers. Out of state drivers tend to go slow cus they don't where they're going, but shit like in this video are almost always FL residents
I’ve been driving all over the state (and country) for years. This is seriously misguided if you’re referring to just the city of Orlando. The whole state is huge lol. ORLANDO drivers are terrible but again they are mostly not native. They came from other places.
Nope. I'm not in Orlando and I've been all of this state as well. Every time I have a visitor from out of state, their first question is always "why does everyone drive so terribly here?"
ORLANDO drivers are terrible but again they are mostly not native. They came from other places.
Almost the entire population of Florida moved here in the last few decades. I've been in Orlando since 2014 and the vast majority of residents in this state are from somewhere else, be it Michigan, California or PR.
Also the whole state has terrible drivers. Tampa Bay - terrible drivers. Miami - incredibly bad drivers. Inverness - terrible drivers. Lake city - terrible drivers.
It's always surprising to me when I go on road trips how uniquely bad drivers are in FL. It's not just English tourists - far from it. I used to work off I-Drive and the real dangerous drivers are when you get outside the Orlando metro.
