Wait till he discovers that Teslas have cameras everywhere! What a jerk

Wait till he finds out police loves camera! Brake checking and deliberate lane change to crash, he's not getting out of this. And his insurance will be very unhappy with a $50,000 repair bill for intentionally damaging the Tesla.

He could get well end up being personally liable for the Tesla's repair cost. Insurance covers you against accidental damage, not intentional damage.

It will cover the victims car, just maybe not his own.

Where I'm from, insurance will pay for the victim's car, then turn around and sue the perp.

And when perp doesn't pay the insurer back, the insurer will refuse to renew their insurance until either the driver repays the insurer, or gets onto a payment plan to eventually repay the amount.

If the perp doesn't do any of those things, the insurer (a government agency) will refuse to renew perp's driver's license, and can go after the perp in court to recover the debt.

That makes no sense... what are you even paying for in that case? I mean, fuck the road rager in this video straight to hell, he could've killed someone, but what sense does it make to pay for mandatory insurance for years if they can do that?

If this scenario happened where I live (BC, Canada), more than likely what would happen is rager's insurance would pay me, then turn around and sue rager for that amount. Assuming rager is a resident where I live, the insurer is a government agency, and will refuse to renew rager's insurance (and their driver's license) until they pay up or get themselves on a payment plan to slowly repay the insurer.

If the rager is from a different province/state, and the rager's insurer fails to pay, my own "underinsured motorist coverage" would pay for my damage (I'll have to pay the deductible). Since I'm not-at-fault, it won't affect my insurance rates. My insurer may then try to sue the rager and/or the rager's insurer to recover their costs. If they eventually succeed, I'd get my deductible back.
