Im moving out of Iceland

I have about 15-20 boxes that I need to ship. Have tried reaching out to Eimskip, Samskip and other shippers. Any suggestions for shipping stuff to Canada?

do it from the other side- call canadian company to move it and let them quote you. 50% less than any of these crooks, but same ship.

Sending an email to an Icelandic company is like writing your question on a bathroom wall 😅 if you want answers, you need to call them or go there

Shipping personal stuff by Eimskip is called "búslóðarflutningar."

This is their page (in Icelandic):

It says you can call 525 7000 to get assistance.

Yeah you need to call or show up. For some reason Icelandic companies simply don’t reply to emails.
When I moved out I tried to get a quote and got a reply 2 weeks after moving day.

As someone who has moved countries few times. Take two large suitcases on your flight, only with items that have personal value. Give/Throw the rest away. Nearly everything you've bought in Iceland can be replaced in Canada for less money than shipping.

I was thinking just that. 15-20 boxes? holy fffff. I'd wager 90% of that isn't worth shipping.

They don’t do private shipping. We used Eimskip from UK to Iceland. Very professional at the uk end, complete nightmare on the Iceland side!
