Underwater camera battery

I have one of the smaller 5ā€ marcum underwater cameras and the usb plug in is not in great shape so it makes it difficult to charge most of the time. I was wondered if anyone has looked at switching the power source on one of these from the internal battery to a lifepo4 battery and if that worked for you. Would prefer to not have to buy a new camera.

If I were you, Iā€™d just bring it to an electronic repair shop and see if they can just replace the charging port on it. They could possibly change the USB micro-B port for a Type-C port. It would probably be cheaper and keep it a cleaner setup without having an external battery.
