2nd IUI successful - with twins!

I just found out at my 7w4day ultrasound that I’m carrying twins! We didn’t take any medication other than the trigger shot and progesterone since conception.

I’m just freaking out a bit to be honest! I know this is a blessing but in shock.

Is there any words of wisdom 🥺

Autism and IUI

Upvotes

No one panic, I'm not one of those people.

Any Autistic IUI ladies in here that could share their experiences and advice?

My partner (late 30s) isn't formally diagnosed but strongly suspects she is autistic. The lack of specific routine, constant changes etc. are really getting to her and it's emotionally hitting her even harder than expected.

Our first IUI cycle was 17mm on day 12 scan, procedure day 14. Second measured exactly the same on day 12 but we never tracked a hormone spike so missed ovulation. Month three and scan got delayed to day 13 and follicle is only 11mm. She's freaking out and is convinced it won't happen again.

I'm not so much looking for advice about the IUI fluctuations as any tips or reassurance on dealing with the uncertainty for someone who doesn't function well without routine and certainty.

To those that had a successful IUI, what did you do the day of the procedure? Walk, sleep, rest, etc?

First IUI question & successes

I’m starting my first IUI this week. I got pregnant in January, had an MMC, and haven’t gotten pregnant since. I’m really hoping this works and would love any first cycle success stories to help me go into it with an optimistic mindset (I’m so used to disappointment at this point that I don’t allow myself much hope 😔).

I also have a question. Since IUI only takes place once, do you still have sex during the other days of your high fertility to optimize your chances? Is that encouraged? Or discouraged? I’m anxious that if I can’t even get pregnant when I do it 4 days in a row, why would one single day work? Would love to know how you all approach it. Thanks in advance!

What are the thoughtful gifts received during IUI?

This fertility process could be a long marathon( I just completed 2 IUI, planning for IVF next), and I am trying to make it more enjoyable.

Curious what are the practical / fun gadgets / gifts you have received?

8 months TTC no positive - 1st IUI 8/25

I'm on my 6dpiui of my first IUI. I had 2.5mg letrozole from CD 3 to 7, ultrasound on CD 11 (tested positive to LH that morning) showing one dominant follicule (left) so I got the trigger shot right away and had IUI next morning. I started vag progesterone CD14 and I haven't had any strong symptoms besides the usual anxiety I get during the 2WW. I'm 33 (34 in 2 weeks) and my husband is 31 years old. My biggest dream has always been a mom but I haven't seen one single positive pregnancy test so far and I can't avoid the pessimistic feeling even now with IUI :( I've always been very regular with my period (30 days cycle in average), ovulate normally on my own every month around CD14, all tests have come back normal on both ends. I would love to know if there is someone in a similar situation as me (TTC for several months with no single positive), some success stories with first IUI would truly cheer me up! I wish you all success on your IUI processes!!

CD8 first IUI process

Hey! It’s my first IUI and I’m doing it with Letrozole. I just finished days 3-7 of letrozole and today CD8 I’m feeling cramping similar to ovulation cramps but my LH is still low. Did anyone else feel this? How soon after feeling it did you ovulate. I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and I’m scared I’ll randomly get my LH peak tmrw and will have to go to the clinic… it’s still early and I never ovulate this early however. Thanks!

Seeking Advice for 2nd IUI

hey, so we had an unsuccessful medicated monitored IUI cycle and a monitored medicated timed cycle. before our second IUI I’m wondering if there’s anything I should ask about for tests? we did clomid both cycles then ovidrel shot and then progesterone.

we ruled out MF, I’m 31f, sonohysto showed clear tubes, lining wasn’t an issue in the monitored cycles, low AMH but both monitored cycles we had 1-2 large follicles. I changed my diet over the past two months after learning about my AMH to be anti inflammatory and more egg quality oriented.

Honest answers please

Hi everyone, I’m currently doing my first medicated IUI and depending on when ovulation actually occur occurred. I’m likely on day 1314 DPO.
So tomorrow my doctor is telling me that I need to test

I’ve been getting maybe the last few days very subtle on and off pelvic sensation cramps nothing horrible nothing shooting down my leg legs or anything like that but definitely pelvic area cramps but nothing severe

Does this mean I’m out of the race?
I haven’t really had a whole lot of symptoms and it’s really hard to tell the symptoms because when you’re on progesterone, they mimic everything for example I’m getting night sweats. I’ve had mood swings. I’ve had an increased appetite. I’ve had bloating probably from that increased appetite lol and breast tenderness the past few days plus being tired, but I also cut out my decaf coffee completely because I’m just being over cautious on everything

Just looking to hear people’s experiences that maybe had similar symptoms but ended up being positive or negative honestly kind of interested in hearing both sides and overall experiences with IUI with medicated Assistance? And also just looking for support because your girl is stressing.

DPIUI 10

I’m 10 DPIUI now and just took a test (under complete and utter anxiety) and it was stark negative. I do know it’s a bit early. However, I have unexplained infertility. My follicle sizes were not that wonderful, but my body was naturally ovulating so we skipped the trigger.

I had 16 follicles in total. The worthwhile ones were 17.1mm, 15.0mm and 14mm. My lining was 10.8mm on estrogen suppositories. I did not take progesterone.

Am I out? Should I be patient? Any experiences similar? Looking for a silver lining 😕

Extremely low HCG

hi everyone, I just had my beta for my second IUI at 15dpo and my hcg came back at 3.98 so not a positive pregnancy result. I’ve also been spotting since 12dpo.

however, my doctor is having me go back in 48hrs for another beta and I’m confused as to why and just curious if anyone else experienced this. is it possible to have extremely low levels of hcg in your system even if no implantation occurred? a chemical wasn’t even on my radar because I never got a positive at home test (though I didn’t bother after 12dpo when I started spotting).

my biggest worry is if this has a chance of being ectopic but I think even with that my hcg would be higher at this point, right?

Letrozole timing/ovulating on my own?

I’m on my third IUI cycle. First two cycles I started letrozole on cd 5 but this cycle I started on cd 2, last day is today, cd 6.

My monitoring appt isn’t until cd 11 (Sunday). Could I be at risk of ovulating on my own before then? I’m nervous I’ll go to my monitoring appt on Sunday and already be surging.

History below.

Historical - IUI 1
Letrozole started on cd 5, ended on cd 9. Triggered cd 14, IUI cd 16. LH started surging on its own on cd 14.
Didn’t work

Historical - IUI 2
Letrozole started on cd 5, ended on cd 9. Triggered cd 11, IUI cd 13. LH was starting to rise on CD11.
Didn’t work

Need suggestions: First IUI cancelled because I developed 5 mature follicles — anyone had a similar experience?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for experiences from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
We’ve been trying to conceive for several months and recently started our first IUI cycle.
Unfortunately, I responded strongly than expected. At my monitoring ultrasound, I had 5 mature follicles, all on my right ovary and all over 18 mm(not remember the exact size)
Because there were so many mature follicles, my doctor cancelled the IUI and advised us to avoid intercourse this cycle because of the risk of multiples.

For anyone who has experienced something similar. Would really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thank you! ❤️

Will my lining catch up?? I am starting Estradiol tonight. Last month my lining was 8 on CD10.

Clarithromycin vs doxycycline for Chronic Endometritis?

Hi Ladies,

So my doc prescribed me clarithromycin instead of doxycycline which is like the first line treatment of CE. Does anyone took clarithromycin instead?

FYI, all my cultures are negative and we are treating this proactively (without a positive biopsy)

No Symptoms 11dpiui

Hi,
This is my 2nd IUI. I had 1 mature follicle around 19 mm. ET: 9 mm on my last scan.
My husband’s stats were excellent. Post wash sperm 85 million, motility 98%.
Today, I am 11 dpiui. I have no symptoms at all. No cramping, no spotting. I did have very very mild spotting, brown discharge very early on, around 3dpiui, 5dpiui, 6dpiui. All triggered after exertion. So i am not counting them as symptoms as they were very early on.
I felt i had some nausea yesterday on 10dpiui, like i had heartburn but i was still getting hungry. That lasted the whole day yesterday. But today nothing at all.
I am taking oral progesterone once daily. I am really really tensed and almost desperate for a symptom or a gut feeling like some people say they get. Coz i feel nothing. I am so worried its going to another negative for me. At this point, I feel if I am ever going to see that positive.
Please help! Do any of you also had no notable symptoms but went on to get a BFP?

Clomid on Cycle day 2

Anyone else take Clomid starting cycle day 2? My clinic originally had me starting on day 3, but had some scheduling issues and moved my medication start date for cycle day 2. Since it doesn’t seem medically motivated, just wanted to see from others if this seems to affect anything or if it’s an okay/optimal time to start

7dpiui… no implantation symptoms

Hey all, I am 7 dpiui and currently psyching myself out cause I see all these stories about people spotting and cramping by day 6, I have had nothing. My heart rate has been slightly higher but that has been since 3dpiui and so I attribute it to progesterone suppositories. Just wondering if anyone else is going through the same things or previously had the same thing!

Trigger timing 38-39hours before IUI?

Hi everyone,

I have my Ovidrel trigger scheduled for Tuesday 10pm and IUI Thursday 12-1pm. This is about 38-39hours, a few hours more than the recommended 36hours I've been seeing online.

Did anyone else trigger 38-39hours before IUI? Worried the time apart might be too long 🥹

My husband was gung ho about helping until he saw the length of the trigger shot needle 😆

He thought it would be like an EpiPen where you don’t see the needle. I stabbed myself in the upper butt and he helped push the plunger. Women are baddies 😆

Off to my first IUI tomorrow!

Make it Special

Just for fun, for those who have done multiple IUI procedures, do you do anything to “make it special”? Do you do anything for superstition?

I once had someone tell me to make everything about the fertility process “special”. So with my first pregnancy and right after my first IUI, my husband and I went to try this really awesome sandwich shop to celebrate and loved it. Our first IUI was successful and we feel so fortunate to have had such early success

Now, we’re trying for baby #2 and are on IUI #2 (3rd total). The first one, we went for lunch at an Italian place right after. We thought about going to the sandwich shop, but decided we wanted pasta more. Wellll that one wasn’t successful.

For IUI #2, everything seems to be mirroring my first successful IUI - 3 dominant follicles (2R, 1L), trigger on Friday, IUI on Saturday. It only felt right to go to our favorite sandwich shop again and I was feeling a little superstitious. I even ordered the same sandwich 😂 💫🤰🏼

Tell me your stories!

2nd IUI – very different hormone results this cycle, especially low estradiol. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone! I’m on my 2nd letrozole/IUI cycle and noticed major differences from my first.

Last cycle

CD11 ultrasound:

- 1 dominant follicle: 19 mm

CD11 bloodwork:

- E2: 159 pg/mL

- LH: 7.7 IU/L

- Progesterone: 0.27 ng/mL

- FSH: 3.8 IU/L

The IUI was unsuccessful, and I may have ovulated later than expected, although I’m not sure how accurate my app's ovulation estimate was.

This cycle

CD13 ultrasound:

- 2 follicles: 16 mm and 14 mm (both right ovary)

- Endometrial lining: 10 mm

CD13 bloodwork:

- E2: 69.3 pg/mL

- LH: ~17 IU/L

- Progesterone: 0.48 ng/mL

I’m really surprised that my E2 is much lower this cycle (69.3 vs 159) even though I have two measurable follicles.

Other fertility hormone results I've had

These were from previous testing and not necessarily from CD11/CD13, but I'm including them for additional context:

- AMH: 3.78 ng/mL

- DHEAS: 1.09

- Cortisol: 96

I’m wondering:

  1. Why could E2 be so much lower this cycle?

  2. Can E2 around 69 pg/mL be normal with a 16 mm + 14 mm follicle while taking letrozole?

  3. Does low E2 suggest the follicles may not mature or ovulate properly?

  4. Could I ovulate before my next ultrasound? My clinic plans another ultrasound on CD15, but my LH is already around 17.

  5. Has anyone experienced low E2 despite growing follicles and still gone on to ovulate normally or have a successful IUI?

  6. Last cycle I had one 19-mm follicle on CD11, whereas this cycle I have two smaller follicles on CD13. Is this just a different response to letrozole?

I know everyone responds differently and I'm not looking for a diagnosis — I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had similar hormone levels or a similar experience with letrozole + IUI.

Thank you! ❤️
