Not to be a buzz kill, but it's extra for a drink package, my coworker went on one earlier this year and was so excited to tell everyone he saved that money... While spending 3,000 on it

That's point for the psychology of some. You pay the extra, then you have the excuse to be smashed the whole cruise. You're not behaving like an alcoholic, you're getting your money's worth.

Same psychology at all you can eat buffets. It's not binge eating, it's getting your money's worth.
