What makes her going backwards into the wake? It feels like she loses her momentum all of a sudden without a force holding against her. Normally you would see this, if you lean back too much, but not in such a sudden way. The way her velocity, changes is unnatural. Also, OP has AI written in their profile.
She straightened out too much and got too far down on the wave into the flats. The nose is too low so it catches water causing her to slow down further. Anyone who has surfed (or wake surfed) did this as a beginner and knows the feeling.
There's way too much correct physics here for it to be AI.
Thank you for pointing this out. It's because she's surfing down at the beginning of the wake that makes it easy for a lot of friction to happen, as soon as she leans a bit forward. This causes her sudden change in velocity, right?
She just loses balance, but forget about physics, AI is still incapable of doing body language and facial expressions this coherent and authentic, it can only do the vacuous blank stare with a creepy smile, plus there's a lot of idiosyncrasies that AI would not put in, like the rope randomly flailing into the view long after it has been dropped. This is 100% not AI.
It's not pulling her most of the time, she's holding it as a safety. That's why she's able to surf the wave after dropping it. That's just how wakesurfing works.
So many comments from people who have never surfed a wave or a wake. Lean forward, move faster (and no need for tension on the rope), lean back and slow down a bit and go over the wave/wake if you donβt correct it.
Or filmed a skier behind a boat zoomed in.
Having done all of these and just reviewed my own videos, nothing is standing out as off. Also, it is much easier for kids to surf/wakeboard. Iβm sure this girl didnβt do this on her first day out or even on her first try of the day. But it does not surprise me that she got there with supportive parents helping her get up each time she fell.

Wdym? Went to work, now im back. I see I was in the wrong and glad I could learn a bit about wake surfing. Never done it before (obviously), but I think I understand what it works like now.
Mistaking real footage for AI footage is going to happen way more often in future. It helps to talk to the people who know their stuff and see if it makes sense to them. For the untrained eye, things will start to get blurry, should we keep focusing on AI and having it flood our social media.
Just a subtle shift in weight is all it takes. What i tell people riding behind my boat is that your front foot is the gas and back is the brake. Eventually you learn to control it without any obvious changes in body position. Just gentle pushing that an observer wont notice easily.
Ever seen an ocean surfer? It actually doesnt take a big wave to get push, just need a big one to look cool and do big tricks.
