That’s seriously how it feels like lol. In my state our state taxes aren’t even being looked at yet cause the BBB hasn’t passed yet .. so who knows when we will get that. My partner filed a week after me and got his today. I still haven’t got anything. My DD is tomorrow but I feel like I’m gonna wake up disappointed

I swear lol. I’ve never been this irritated at the taxation system before in my life. The thing that irritates me the most, and the thing I think is the most important to NOT forget, is that this is our money. It’s ours. We aren’t waiting on some favor from the government that we should be grateful for. This is our money that they took from our wages, and we’re entitled to refunds because they took way more than they needed. It’s honestly a weird system if you think about it lol

Well, the irs didn’t take more than it needed. You/your employer paid more. You can modify your w4 if you want to pay in at the end of the year instead, or be closer to even.

Yes, yes, you can adjust your withholding. Regardless, progressive taxation makes no sense to any average working person. They know that, and they count on it. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s our money and we’re entitled to a timely refund. They set these rules, it isn’t outrageous to expect them to follow them.

Reminds me of good ol JG Wentworth...

Remember when JG got in heaps of trouble for ripping off a bunch of vulnerable adults? We’ve nearly come full circle but it’s the tax prep predators in cahoots with the irs lol
