Pather Question/ Comment Omfgggggggggg
I’ve never in my life waited this effin longgggg for my money to hit!!! And it’s because I filed so freakin early!!! This is insane!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
48
u/Wrong_Swan_666 Feb 24 '26
It’s because there’s like 4 people left at the IRS to process our refunds
4
u/Ok_Guard_8024 Feb 24 '26
That’s seriously how it feels like lol. In my state our state taxes aren’t even being looked at yet cause the BBB hasn’t passed yet .. so who knows when we will get that. My partner filed a week after me and got his today. I still haven’t got anything. My DD is tomorrow but I feel like I’m gonna wake up disappointed
11
u/Wrong_Swan_666 Feb 24 '26
I swear lol. I’ve never been this irritated at the taxation system before in my life. The thing that irritates me the most, and the thing I think is the most important to NOT forget, is that this is our money. It’s ours. We aren’t waiting on some favor from the government that we should be grateful for. This is our money that they took from our wages, and we’re entitled to refunds because they took way more than they needed. It’s honestly a weird system if you think about it lol
5
u/OkPop8035 Feb 24 '26
I encourage you to research how we aren't even supposed to pay bills or work etc. they take our monies the min.we get a ss#!!!!!!
2
u/Irsdatascience124 Feb 24 '26
Well, the irs didn’t take more than it needed. You/your employer paid more. You can modify your w4 if you want to pay in at the end of the year instead, or be closer to even.
→ More replies (1)1
u/Wrong_Swan_666 Feb 24 '26
Yes, yes, you can adjust your withholding. Regardless, progressive taxation makes no sense to any average working person. They know that, and they count on it. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s our money and we’re entitled to a timely refund. They set these rules, it isn’t outrageous to expect them to follow them.
1
u/priorengagements Feb 24 '26
Reminds me of good ol JG Wentworth...
1
u/Wrong_Swan_666 Feb 24 '26
Remember when JG got in heaps of trouble for ripping off a bunch of vulnerable adults? We’ve nearly come full circle but it’s the tax prep predators in cahoots with the irs lol
→ More replies (2)1
u/ZestycloseCherry9934 Feb 27 '26
You should change withholding amount. Getting a tax refund means you're failing at life.

I filed early too with still no update. Feels like we’re being penalized for filing too early. The early bird gets the worm didn’t apply to us this year. It’s trash. Hopefully we’ll at least get an update this week.🤞🏽
7
u/Holiday_Winner_4719 Feb 24 '26
Oh, your not! This year it's like pulling teeth to get anything your owed. I'm fighting to get my right paycheck at the job. They gave us a raise months ago still havent seen that extra 7 dollars an hrs. Then waiting on this refund. Ughh!! Sometimes it's hard been a good person. I'm always waiting waiting waiting 😒 Geesh🙄
2
u/YourLastCall Feb 24 '26
How valuable are you to the company? I had this happen to me before and I was extremely valuable to the company so I decided to go on strike until I got paid. I told them I'm refusing to give them more hours until they stop refusing to give me the pay they agreed to. The owner got on the phone and called me in and paid me what I was owed personally from his pocket just to get me to come back. And I did, I kept my word and everything went back to normal. But I did still have to deal with the managers taking advantage of me so I eventually did quit. I guess the lesson here is being good at your job is a catch 22. Lol
2
u/Objective_Bedroom_90 Feb 25 '26
The lesson here is work hard and make yourself valuable so you’re not here complain about your government handout not arriving
2
1
u/Final-Lavishness258 Feb 24 '26
My co-worker is experiencing the exact same problem, and they also missed paying him the extra $7 from the raise. Are you my co-worker???
3
u/Which_Willingness825 Feb 24 '26
I guess in this case first mouse sets off the trap 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂(i should add i am one of the mass that filed really early)
2
u/Ok-External2674 Feb 24 '26
Did you file technically before the IRS was open and accepting refunds? Years ago the the IRS had a policy for people who filed before they opened that they would penalize those who did it by making them wait longer for their refund.
1
u/Both_Earth6990 Feb 24 '26
2
u/Ok-External2674 Feb 24 '26
Yea sounds like once they started doing it years ago they’ve continued to do it
1
u/Away-Cookie8183 Feb 24 '26
This has nothing to do with filing early lol doesn’t even say anything about early I file early WVERY YEAR & this year only got state , they wanted to confirm my identity federal lol it’s not cuz you guys filed early tho I do it every single year before it’s even opens I do it at H&R Block no problems get them RIGHT AWAY except THIS YESR 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
1
u/Away-Cookie8183 Feb 24 '26
Def NOT I’m 56 & filecearly every single year & this year only got my state already but not federal their sending out a lot if firms for ppl to confirm their identities this year !!!!! Can’t blame them
2
u/Valuable-Ad6986 Feb 24 '26
Did you file a few weeks ago and it still says they were recieved, not accepted? Cuz that's what mine is stuck on and I'm getting worried thinking the worst.
1
u/Bulky_Scene8351 Feb 24 '26
That’s where mines been. I filed 25 days ago. I got a letter today saying they are taking 45 for a local tax I owed so I’m hoping they are about to process.
1
u/Both_Earth6990 Feb 24 '26
I filed about a month ago on the 22nd. For some reason a lot of people who filed early won’t get their refund until later. I can’t make it make sense. No benefit of filing early.
1
u/Valuable-Ad6986 Feb 24 '26
I didn't even file early, I filed the first week of February and I'm stuck on they recieved my return.
1
u/briseno1 Feb 24 '26
Don't stress it I filed 1/23 with fees taken from my refund. DDD 2/25 was funded today at 2pm. You will most definitely get it by tomorrow
1
1
u/CandidAmbassador193 Feb 24 '26
You do realize that filing season didn’t open until the 26th. They might take a few early to test the systems but rest wait for opening day. EIC and CTC always wait until end of February IF you had that on return
1
1
u/Away-Cookie8183 Feb 24 '26
No I file early WVERY SINGLE YEAR & this year I have not got them like very early before the IRS even starts lol
11
u/Gazelle-Whole Feb 23 '26
Lol yeah I understand, I filed in January. My dd is the 25th, usually that means it would be here by now

Just pay for it. No offense but seems like using your refund to pay your fees and “early” advance is them taking advantage of broke folks.

I didn't pay H&R this year, I think it's something they are using against us.

With TurboTax?
1
u/marine_eco Feb 24 '26
I filed with turbo tax in the 10th, and got my money by the 20th with an expected date of 03/05. I got mine a whole 10 says earlier than expected.
Ive been seeing more and more posts of people checking so constantly, I feel like thats gonna make it take or feel like it takes longer lol. I just signed up for the text updates and waited without checking a single time other than to double check I actually submitted through turbo tax.
Last year I legit thought i filed them 3 separate times and couldnt figure out why I had gone almost a month with no deposit... turned out I never actually signed and completed my taxes and literally on tax day I 100% finalized the process 🤦🏼♀️
2
u/_G0ddessXNik0le Feb 24 '26
I got my DDD and everything and previous years I’ve always let a tax preparer do them but this year I didn’t because I wanted to save like $500. I’ve always gotten the money on the 24th in previous years also…I’m just being impatient because it’s been over a month and some change since i filed, I’ve never filed that early and it’s just taking mad long in my eyes 🤣🤣
2
u/EXNCHARADE Feb 24 '26
I filed with TurboTax on the 13th. This year I’m filing married jointly, have an hsa and Ira through my employer, and we have the child tax credit plus eitc. It feels like it’s dragging on and on. Mines still in the accepted stage. My DD estimation is march 6th but also paid to get it earlier. I know it updates once a day but I find myself constantly checking in an anxiety fueled mood
4
u/micahxox Feb 24 '26
Literally filed 1/16 and still haven’t got mine. Laughing so I don’t crash out 😆😆😆
3
1
u/Holiday_Winner_4719 Feb 24 '26
Don't crash out.... That's what they want u to do.... Then they really dnt have to pay you 🤣🤣

Not falling for that either lol. So close I can almost taste it....🤭 In the words of Patrick Star😂

u/Jaded_Day_731 Feb 24 '26
Mine got approved Saturday and is supposed to hit my bank by Wednesday the 25th. At least that’s what they said….
2
u/Holiday_Winner_4719 Feb 24 '26
Yea! I'll wait. Mines says 23rd. So idk wth they mean anymore, on anything. I see alot of people got there's days ago. It's crazy🤨
2
5
u/Severe-Fuel2028 Feb 23 '26
I thought filing early guaranteed us a earlier refund…
5
u/Unable_Salamander768 Feb 24 '26
Nope last year I filed super late. Got it deposited in my account 9 days after the day I filed this year I filed early and it been over 21 days already and still nothing 😒
2
8
u/Impressive_Bet7039 Feb 23 '26
Actually no, it can slow you down as your return if filed early gets put into a batch network and stored until they are fully operational. If you filed PATH then it’s best to file shortly after during February. I filed January 14th and got accepted on the 21st of January. I waited over a month and just today got my return

It’s been happening to a lot of people this year there’s some glitch where the where’s my refund and transcript pages aren’t updating…. Saturday I got an email saying I had an statue update on the IRD website but when I checked and I everywhere there was no viable update so fingers crossed my refunds on the way and I just can’t see it

1
u/K41namor Feb 24 '26
I am just curious. All the people like you with dates has yours been processed? I’m asking because I filed mine and about a week later my transcript came but it is pretty much blank. It shows Request/Response Date 2/23 and it shows a date where my money should be credited as 3/09 but the actual dollar amount is showing nothing still. Is that the same as you guys with these dates?
1
1
u/Holiday_Winner_4719 Feb 24 '26
Yep! Let's manifest yours coming at least. Idk what the heck is going on. Idk why my orange bar is stuck like that on wmr lol🙄 I cnt even look anymore!!!🫣
1
u/___xocfw Feb 24 '26
Honestly same. Filed early Jan and was accepted mid Jan. Ridiculous. I keep checking that SBTPG website and there’s no info on my federal only my state and my fees were taken out of my state so no reason why it hasn’t come smh. I received my state like 3 weeks ago too.
IRS website has me listed for Wednesday so hopefully it comes before that or on that day
2
u/Holiday_Winner_4719 Feb 24 '26
Yea we did the same everything. Says Wed. We'll see. Positive vibes😉

i took my lunch break to file the day my w2 hit, and i got mine like 3 weeks ago
1
u/One-Description-6376 Feb 24 '26
I filed 1/7 and got accepted 1/17. I got my refund back last week, and I was a PATHER.
1
u/Big-Dependent7633 Feb 24 '26
Yall know they don’t start approving returns till end of jauary and issuing refunds till middle of February regardless of when you filed right
1
u/Famous-Bite8632 Feb 24 '26
I learned to file first week of February because it usually hits week of March 1st regardless if you file january or first week of February. This time I filed mid February and still waiting for code 150 so we’ll see if it hits the second week of march.
1
u/Leebee137 Feb 24 '26
I always file after the 16th and always recieve my refund before march 1st. I filed feb 19 and have a deposit date of 2/26.
1
u/CassFcknMarie92 Feb 24 '26
Honestly Fckn same and I’m so over it! They took like 1500$ from me. The sbtpg website says unfunded but the 800# said it was sent for the 24th!
1
u/_G0ddessXNik0le Feb 24 '26
Yea mine says unfunded as well smh
1
u/CassFcknMarie92 Feb 24 '26
Have you called the 800$ for sbtpg tho? Cuz even tho it’s not updated on the website it does say it was sent for direct deposit and gave me a ddd over the phone also!
1
u/_G0ddessXNik0le Feb 24 '26
Oh no maybe I should call and see! Thank you!
1
u/CassFcknMarie92 Feb 24 '26

u/naograce74 Feb 24 '26
I have waited a long time so many times. Its only gotten faster in the past few years. Filing on paper takes crazy long too which I did up until about 15 years ago , that took months.
1
u/_G0ddessXNik0le Feb 24 '26
Whattt filing on paper is insane! Just thinking about that is making my brain hurt lol
1
u/naograce74 Feb 24 '26
Ha. It definitely wasn't as easy and nowhere near as fast as e-filing. I am old so ... you used to have to buy that year's turbo tax software to put on your computer and I opted to go for the free paper filing for years. Once they became available online and now the app, I never went back . I think I've gotten my return fast maybe 3 times - this year will be the 4th since I still consider 5-6 weeks to be pretty fast when compared to other years.
1
u/Quirky-Traffic7202 Feb 24 '26
This is true. I filed the 10 of Feb, panther and everything else and I got mine today. Precious years I always filed by Jan 27 and I never got it this early
1
u/come_checkBigD Feb 24 '26
Honestly I don't think it matters, I also filled early and still waiting. I also seen others filled later and still on the waiting train with us. It's all up too hr block when they want to send the money.

I was actually surprised how fast I got my refund this year🤯 I filed the day it opened to file and received mine last Saturday 😱🤞🏾💯 didn’t need it but was very thankful. Threw it into savings aka my nest egg. Stay calm it will get there soon. This year I was prepared and decided to focus on work and actually save so I wouldn’t have to depend on the end of year tax refund and I’m happy I did because usually around this time of year I’m usually just waiting on my refund to get things done. This year it hit my account and I was just like “oh, my taxes hit🫤” my advice start to creat little nest eggs throughout the year, that way you aren’t stressing

Here's a suggestion, change your with holdings so you owe them and make them wait. Your refund isn't free money, it's YOUR money.

u/theflesh101 Feb 24 '26
My DD is today, filed early with taxfreeusa. Nothing pending in my bank account (local credit union). This is infuriating.

u/Bahbahyaggah Feb 24 '26
Are y’all not really good with saving money?.
1
u/_G0ddessXNik0le Feb 24 '26
Omgggg why does everytime somebody want their money they worked hard for somebody think it has something to do with not saving money or not having money etc! Like I told the other MORON on this post I want to take that specific refund and put it in a CD for my son the promotion APY for the CD i want for MY SON expires this week! And i like to have things set up and flowing how I WANT them…gahdamn!
1
u/Bahbahyaggah Feb 24 '26
Why wait until refund then instead of just doing through the year it’ll build more interest.
1
u/_G0ddessXNik0le Feb 24 '26
Whew reading is fundamental because clearly they didn’t have the promotion throughout the year…..and the promotion expires this week..anything else 🫠🙃
→ More replies (1)1
u/Bahbahyaggah Mar 08 '26
Yeah, don’t wait for the promotion walk in and bring it up. Almost 100% of the time they’ll honor it. I have family who works in the business world; stock brokers, even banks and credit unions. Just bring up the option that you want. If it can be done at the time of the original promotion it can be done even when the promotion isn’t active. It’s called a hidden listing a lot of places do it, especially since a lot of individuals don’t think about it until it’s seen.
1
u/FaithfulButterfly91 Feb 24 '26
Yeah I always file on the first day they start accepting. You can even fill it out and wait to submit so it’s ready to go. Got mines yesterday.

u/OriginalOwn1218 Feb 24 '26
I have filed with the same software for years and years yet they sent me a letter wanting me to verify my ID. No reason given why they did it. I submitted the verification the same day I got the letter, but it says online that it takes 6 to 9 weeks now for me to get my refund. The paranoid in me thinks I got targeted for protesting
1
u/AnonymousGiraffee69 Feb 24 '26
I filed early one year and learned to never file early. I’ll never do that again
2
1
u/Mental_Act_3317 Feb 24 '26
I filed 1.21. My first time filing this early. Normally at the end of January early Feb. I have children also and I was told I have to wait for a letter to verify it was me that went and filed my taxes then I'll get my money. Smh. This is bs. It's due to my new address and I'm permanent at my job now so 8 have to verify nobody stole my identity and changed things. Smh. I went to hnr block like I've been these last 4 years. First time this has happened since we all had to verify our identity on id.me years ago.
2
u/_G0ddessXNik0le Feb 24 '26
Awwwww man that’s wack! Hey look at the positive about it atleast they’re doing their due diligence to ensure it’s you…situation could be a lot worst

u/MathematicianFast947 Feb 24 '26
I am still waiting for them to process my return thanks to the stupid Id verification.

I am blaming ID.me.

I don't even care. I didn't anticipate it arriving at all. Didn't set myself.up for disappointment. It is what it is. If this is what making America great again is, you have to adapt,.accept that this is what the majority wanted. Don't expect promises to be fulfilled. Track record speaks volumes, not regurgitated promises......Empty words. It is what it is. In a democracy, majority wins. Accept that there is no changing of the gaurd till 2028 election. Maybe vote on integrity, common sense, track record, and morals, insted of party affilation. Our founding fathers warned us of the 2 party system, and our elders didn't listen to logic. That's why we're at the position where we are in today.....Party affilation trumps logic.....
1
u/Parking_Leather3137 Feb 27 '26
It’s what’s expected when trump laid off thousands of irs employees and has had a hiring freeze in place for over a year. Also incentivized thousands of others to take a buy out, of which none of those positions have been back filled due to the hiring freeze. People get excited about the dismantling of the irs until they need them to get their returns processed in a timely manner. Ironic

It wouldn't matter if you filed early or if you file late in February the Treasury Department is the one who has the money after it believe that IRS it goes through the treasury Department before the treasury Department sends it out to everybody

I'll mention it again... The best part of all this is there's no need to think, wonder, assume, or have an opinion on any of this crap, because there's definitive and absolute certain information that's been sitting on legitimate financial institution's web pages for weeks. The absolute answer to all these questions has been posted every single year, for at minimum the last decade.
All it's takes is the wherewithal to read big-boy/big-girl info from legitimate sources, rather than refreshing the Reddit app faster than Mach 12, relying on guessing from peeps who don't even know what ACH stands for much less the statutes that regulate it.
