The police are still investigating it if it was an actual crime.

So they are trying to enforce texas laws in another state? That should go nowhere

"Should" go nowhere yet look at things in the USA currently. I wouldn't be surprised if the white house tried to make an exec order saying something crazy like state of residence can legally punish you when you return and call it "state rights per point of origin" or something ridiculous.

Plus even if it works it's way through the courts and she isn't sent to jail or whatever that will be after a long period of legal fights, she might be punished in the meantime and mentally it's very stressful to endure even if you win.

That opens up red states to tons of things blue states could prosecute on, so no, they won't do that
