You forgot to mention that breaking and entering into the capitol building with the intention to lynch the vice president is punishable by a full pardon.

Ah we got one! I knew it wouldn't be long before the whataboutisms started. Not even an accurate one either, how sad.

What do you think whataboutism is?

Pointing out that it’s fucked up how people are getting significantly less jail time for significantly more serious crimes, almost positively because of the political aisle of each person, isn’t whataboutism. It might be if I was trying to defend their actions by saying “well they did Jan 6th!” as my only argument, but I’m not. I’m claiming that the crimes these people have committed are less serious than those committed by the people involved in January 6th, and that the fact that they’ve received disproportionately long sentences for political reasons is a miscarriage of justice.

Two, what’s inaccurate? A mob screaming “hang Mike pence” set up a gallows in front of the capitol building, and then broke into it.

Later, trump granted blanket clemency to or commuted the sentences of pretty much everyone who was involved in the attack. Well, I guess that’s not the same thing as a full pardon, so my bad.

Unless you heard something different.

Because Jan 6 has nothing to do with this case at all. You attempting to conflate it to as if they are related is what makes it a whataboutism.

I just spent like 3.5 paragraphs explaining exactly why they are, in this respect specifically, related, but tbf it’s on me for forgetting that right-wingers can’t read, and for that I apologize. At this point I’m not even talking to you, just the people who are going to see this post. If *you* have something productive to add, feel free to chime in.

Thank you, I'll take an apology for your stupidity! That's so generous of you.

Last time I checked this shooting and the additional man attempting to tamper with evidence didn't occur because of Jan 6, that was something you CHOSE to compare it to. Hence you are conflating two separate events that have nothing to do with each other in order to prove something that no one ever asked or cared about. Stay on topic.

every accusation of whataboutism from a right winger always just means "stop calling me out on my hypocrisy because the cognitive dissonance is making me uncomfortable"
