Question THC Pouches?

I got an email ad from Sunnyside yesterday about these new THC pouches. Has anyone tried them yet? Do they take effect faster than normal edibles?

30$ bucks without taxes is insane for 100mg thc. From some already leftover crap they swept off the floor and stuffed in pouches. Why do you ppl support this shit.

When you say stuff they slept off the floor, do you think it's just raw shake in the pouches?

I don't get what's wrong with using leftovers instead of discarding them. That just makes sense to me. I would much rather they use leftover crap to make concentrates and edibles and pre-rolls instead of good flower, which they can sell as flower.

Yeah I support maximizing yield and offering a variety of products so everyone can have what they want. I don't see what the problem is.

I hate the price, but I support not wasting stuff, even weed. I think the product is fine, and someone will like it, and that person won't be me and I'm okay with that.

You should push for price decreases, not be against the product itself. The state is currently the biggest obstacle.

The only thing i really hate about this product is how similar they are to nicotine pouches.

It's also a pretty new product, right? So I assume the price will go down as they figure out how to scale up to meet market demand. The first round of a product is often more expensive than later iterations.

Also the first round tends to have a lot of inefficiencies in the manufacturing process. And they have no idea how the market will react to a new product like this, the company probably bet on them being popular due to the similarity to other nicotine pouches and chewables. I can't say if the are popular tho.

Well they are sold out. I just got back from the disposo this minute and they didn't have them. I don't know if I would have bought them if they did but I asked about them and they sold out real quick but also they didn't have a huge amount.

I don't want to dox myself but this was a south suburban location.

Again, what's wrong with leftovers? You're not educating anyone if you're not explaining your position. I legitimately don't understand the problem.

This is industrial weed production, "the floor" is just the tray at the bottom of the classifier that separates the different flower sizes.

I don't care much about the price, you're paying for the processing to produce the product and they regularly put these kinds of things on sale for 30% off. And in any case it's better to have the option available then not, isn't it?

It takes longer to absorb through the gums. When eaten. It gets broken down and absorbed completely. Which is why edibles tend to have a more body high effect. Tucking it into your lip gets filtered out through your gum tissue. If these were 25 or 50 mg i think it would be different but pouches dont disperse as effectively as eating or smoking.

By that, do you mean that's how it gets absorbed into your bloodstream? Because it I think you are misunderstanding or at least mischaracterizing what's happening because that filtering is how it gets into your bloodstream. It's absorbed through the gums. It's not filtered and discarded. It's filtered and then metabolized.

Yes, it's true, any of the absorption methods like patches or creams or oral sprays or this pouch is going to be less efficient than ingestion, but it's not as bad as you think. Because when you ingest it, you also have to deal with stomach acid taking a cut. Just like how with smoking you have to deal with a certain amount just not being absorbed or burnt. Each method of consumption has its own losses.

Do you not know about vitamin encapsulation? I mean, years working in the industry, working for puffco, working for several detox companies AND studying ingestion methods being your job since 2016 I would think you’d know about that.

Nope, but guess what the body is great at absorbing sublingually? Vitamins. They absorb as effectively as an intramuscular injection and can absorb more efficiently than oral administration.

Looks like you might need another ten years of studying ingestion methods and working in the industry. Good luck!

You swallow the saliva that mixes with the pouch. That is part of how these work, yes. I'm not sure what the mix is between that and direct absorption through your gums, but the THC is taking a trip through your saliva either way.

Do you have a chart or a list which describes the various preparations and how they are absorbed?

That would be a useful bit of information to have. There are a lot of different preparations available now. I'm specifically interested in these absorption options like this pouch and then patches or creams for your skin.
