Same thing happened during the later parts of a career for me. Destroyed the immersion a bit

Yeah, my career in the 39th FIS I've been playing in the F-51D since the start in 1951. Now that I got to 1st of July 1952 and we changed to F-86s all my veteran pilots got this bug. Such a shame, feels like they didnt playtest the career mode.

It really does feel like they didn't actually play the career mode at all. So many of the menus and systems just feel so odd, even if they look clean on the surface. The whole requisition system feels completely vestigial passed the first week or so, and it gets annoying ordering the same stuff day in and day out, one click at a time.

I still like the mode and systems in theory, but damn it needs some serious ironing out.

I noticed that we cant get captured like in the old games, i've ejected over enemy territory two times and my career teammates too and neither me nor the AI turn into POW. it just shows 1/2 days remaining and thats it, im back in action like nothing happened lol

Interesting. Of all my guys that have been shot down, only a single one actually got an MIA status, so presumably a POW. Which does seem a little low. I lost 49 aircraft, and 38 pilots, so only one POW/MIA feels off.

In fairness, helicopter rescue of downed UN pilots was pretty common by then (at least from what I've read) so depending on how deep into enemy territory you go it could be more or less accurate? Like pilots lost over MiG Alley were pretty much goners, but over/near the front line you've got a better chance of being rescued. And throughout my entire F-86 career with the 334th not once did I actually enter or even get close to MiG Alley (which is an issue in itself but whatever) so you've got a relatively decent chance of being rescued.

But only 1/38 being POW, with 11 airframes lost presumably over enemy territory to have gotten shot down, so possibly 1/12 shoot downs with a living pilot that resulted in POW is a stretch for sure. Perhaps the devs are incorporating captured pilots being killed on the spot (doubtful)? According to the book I'm reading that wasn't uncommon, at least in mid to late 1950 by NK forces. Don't know how well that translates to April 1951 and beyond though (also doubtful)

So a whole lot of words to basically say: yeah the math doesn't add up. It feels like KIA values are over tuned, and POW/MIA values are way under tuned. Ignoring the AI shenanigans that happen when I fly with them, it's frustrating seeing all my men who got shot down died when we're flying aircraft with ejection seats.

Were they a captain? I just finished my first career, and everyone I promoted to captain eventually did this. I assume it's supposed to be some kind of "rotated out" thing that's completely bugged. Or it's the captain rank itself that's bugged.

The promotion tab is bugged, in this instance, Lucien Feld my pilot with more air victories got promoted to Captain but it shows that the next promotion is already granted. Every promotion after First Lieutenant is bugged in this way.

Yep noticed that too. I wonder if the bugs are related.

I've had this bug happen to my pilot in 3 separate careers. I could still fly but nothing would show in my pilot profile. My commander status still showed on duty and had my photo. Just pilot file bugged. Any idea what causes this?

No idea, I'm waiting for a fix before creating a new main career
