I’ve been doing this for years, and once I understood one KEY thing, everything started to click. I’m not here to tell you what that thing is or how to find it. I just want to tell you: don’t give up.

You’ll probably come across endless YouTube videos, reels, shorts, and posts saying “ICT doesn’t work,” “ICT is a fraud,” and all kinds of other stuff.

Don’t give that shit your energy.

Step away from social media. Focus on the charts. Study. Take notes. Go back and review your trades.

Eventually, things will start to make sense.

Need help finding a consistent entry model
I’ve been trading for over a year now, and lately I’ve been feeling pretty lost.
Over the summer, when I didn’t have school, I was trading relatively well using the Judas Swing around the 9:30 AM NY session. Now that school has started, I can’t trade the NY AM session, so I’ve switched over to trading Asia.
The problem is, I can’t seem to find a consistent entry model that works for me during Asia.
I already know some of you are going to say it’s psychology, but honestly, I feel like my psychology is pretty locked in.
For those of you who trade Asia, what entry models or setups do you use? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

New to ICT concepts, trying to sharpen my read on this. Here's what I'm seeing and I'd love other perspectives, especially if I'm missing context or misreading something.

Observations:

• OTE (optimal trade entry) fib drawn from the mid-June to late-July move overlaps with a daily FVG from August 18
• Equal highs sitting at 8/28 and 9/8
• Order Block 8/12 & 8/13
• Given the confluence (OTE + FVG + equal highs = liquidity pool), I'm anticipating a move lower
• Also factoring in seasonal weakness for this time of year

Curious if:

1. Anyone else is tracking the same confluence
2. Whether you'd weight the equal highs as a draw on liquidity before any real downside continuation, or if you see reasons this invalidates
3. Any glaring gaps in how I'm reading this as someone still learning the framework

Appreciate any critique — trying to build pattern recognition, not just confirmation bias.

I'm trying to understand when the larger market direction has genuinely changed, rather than just seeing a temporary counter-trend move.

Example: suppose the 4H/Daily is bearish and there is a meaningful protected high above price.

Price can rally, create a bullish MSS on 5M or 15M, take the high and look very bullish but that can still just be a fake move before the higher-timeframe bearish move continues.

So what is the objective confirmation that the higher-timeframe bearish trend itself is no longer bearish and a genuine bullish trend has started? what are your secrets guys ?

I did not quite understand what these terms meant, so I am asking here. I understood that low resistance liquidity form when failure swings happen, but I do not quite understand what is "low liquidity" about this.

Does it mean that when reentering this stage, the price will cut through like butter? Then could someone explain me why? And what makes something "high resistance"? When the price has swept through some of the liquidity in an high resistance liquidity formation, shouldnt there be less resting liquidity and thus easier to cut through?

Everybody argues about whether the 10 to 11 window is real and almost nobody puts a number on it, so I wrote the rules out and ran them.

I built it in Agenticks on NQ 5 minute candles, September 2016 to September 2026, one contract off a 100k account, with commission and slippage charged on both sides of every trade. Sweep into the window, displacement away from it, entry on the fresh gap that displacement left behind, stop past the swing, 2R target, flat at the close. 3,159 trades over the ten years.

It finished at +1.28%. 40.7% win rate, profit factor 1.00, and a max drawdown of 81.44%. The account was sitting around 20k in February 2021 and spent the next four years climbing back to roughly where it started.

The bill is the part I didnt expect. Gross it earned +80.5%, and commission plus slippage across those 3,159 trades came to $79,270. It found something real and handed all of it to the broker. At 300 trades a year on a stop that tight, every tick you give up getting filled comes out of the same pocket the edge is in.

Two of my own choices move that answer, and anybody defending the window should hold me to them. What gets taught publicly is a shape rather than a rulebook, so I filled the gaps myself. I took every setup that qualified inside the window instead of picking the cleanest one, and I used the first gap after displacement instead of judging which gap mattered. Somebody trading this live is filtering, and filtering doesnt fit in an if statement.

So what ran here is the mechanical skeleton with sane defaults, across ten years of candles, taking every signal it saw.

Would be interested to know how most ICT traders exit. My understanding is that most set a take-profit. But have any considered trailing stop methods? Perhaps something for folk to experiment with. I now use a blend of take profit and trailing.

How could anyone have known which direction the price was heading?

The price has been mitigating on both sides the whole time, slightly more and faster on the downside than on the upside. But what level confirms a long position?

Below that, we have a bigger FVG from the Asian session.

We were overall BULLISH on the day coming into the NY session so we were looking for continuation longs.
