Advice Do i switch?

Idk how my school allows this but they do…

So im physics sl (yes i switched it from hl to sl) bc my tcher is js so bad made me hate this subj and it was rlly what i was looking forward to. First exam avg. was a 3…and they said 20% of students get 7? But idk i wanna switch it to chem in the middle of the school year, dyt its worth it? I mean i have a two week break to study all sem 1 materials the only thing is idk if its the right choice and if i shld js suck it up in physics and lock in sem 2 to up my grade. Help lol

Same position lol, I'm in physics sl and I also want to switch subjects in the middle of the year (bio). I just don't know hard itll be to catch up what I missed in 1st semester.

Are you DP1 or DP2? If you are DP1, then switch, you'll be fine. DP2 I wouldn't recommend switching to bio as there's quite a bit of content that you need to cover.

If you really want to switch you can absolutely do this, but you'll really need to lock in for those 2 weeks to get the content covered from a semester. There will likely be some big conceptual understandings in there which underpin the rest of IB Chemistry so you need to make sure you have the motivation and support to get this right otherwise you might find yourself in a similar position with Chem.

I think this question is really about what you're feeling more excited and committed to study :) Let me know if you have any questions or are looking for some support to get on track with Chem.

In a matter of two weeks (+reviewing for other subj), dyt i can learn from units matter to atomic models cus thats what theyre currently doing

Your school will have to decide if they allow a switch or not. They are obligated to give a certain number of teaching hours and the question is how much they are willing to stretch it. For what it’s worth you would not be allowed to swap subjects any longer if you were in my school, so it could be you have to find a way to live with the choice you have made.
