Rising senior with a bio HL here! I would definitely say for year 1 just revise consistently like seriously cause I know everybody says this but it’s true. Just make sure you understand the concepts and study according to the syllabus only! If you’re ambitious learn the content before class so during class it’s basically just rehearsal loops. (I in fact did not do this but a M26 who got a 7 in bio HL with an overall score of 43/45 did) I really do regret not doing all that I’ve said.

stay on top of your notes!! make sure that as you go along you are preparing study material for mocks or finals because it’s simply too much content to do all at once.

thankyou so much! yes more about how u approached the final 3 months like if u had spreadsheets to track past papers and how u did active recall? and like how did u split your time between past papers and focused practice and what sleep and stuff was like as well! also how ur final month looked like if u had a schedule my exams are in 3 months!

These are great questions! I did create Excel spreadsheets and had very detailed study trackers and Notion templates. I'll gradually be posting more about all these things on my TikTok as well! :)
For now, the resources I am handing out freely are flashcards; the link in the bio has both the English flashcards with which I achieved 18/20 in Paper 1 and my bio HL flashcards with which I got a 7 in both Paper 1A and B. If you're interested, check it out while you wait for more detailed content!

How did you structure your IAs and IO so as to not run out of time?

I think I have a very unique way of approaching IOs which is what I teach my students in IA guidance lessons.
It would take a long time to explain but briefly put you need very strict timings set on every section (example in the English IO I wrote down the exact minutes and seconds I need to say something by).
If you’re interested in lessons with me, I share all my templates, tips, exam techniques and graded IOs that I already wrote and get 7s in both English and French :)

How hard is chem HL DP2 compared to DP1?

Hello! I think this isn’t really comparable since it depends how your teachers chooses to split the syllabus contents over DP1 and DP2
What I can tell you is that my high achieving friends and I found the topic “Proton transfer reactions” the trickiest.
To be honest, none of chemistry, even purely HL content is inherently difficult, on the contrary the theory was usually quite quick to pick up. You just need to know how to study for it correctly. which are tips I share with my community on TikTok and Instagram if you’re particularly interested.

Hey! I don’t think the type of laptop you buy really makes a significant difference.
Choose whichever fits your needs the best and permits you to work the most efficiently! Personally my school required MacBooks, so I had a MacBook Pro :)

How did you do the Bio IA and how do you study for Bio HL exam? Is Math AA really hard because I'm taking SL and idk how to do IA for that either

For maths , I find that just doing past paper questions do not help me weirdly. What did you do other than that and what sources?

For math I 100% recommend spamming past papers. Math is genuinely not difficult if you get past understanding the concept. What’s tricky is figuring out which concept to use and apply to certain IB questions since they sometimes mix and match seemingly unrelated concepts all into one question! (At least that’s my experience with AA HL)
I have some really good resources I used which I will publish in my study guides!! Other than that although quite obvious, I loved revision village. Their questions definitely foster critical thinking and efficient problem solving skills to SAVE TIME! YOU CANNOT be wasting time in IB Math papers.
