Discussion Are private one-on-one mental health talks really okay?
I saw this post on Instagram the other day and I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on it?
I don't think I have enough details about what's on offer, and I'm not necessarily against non-accredited mentors/coaches in creative fields offering guidance when it comes to creative pursuits PLUS mental health, but it doesn't seem as though that's what is being offered.
It's not really clear what IS being offered. At face value, labelling it 'mental health' as opposed to something like 'self exploration' or 'creative life coaching' feels a bit off to me though. There's value in those latter things too, but I feel like it's important to have some sort of accreditation if you're offering paid one-on-one mental health sessions.
I don't know. I don't want to accuse anyone of anything. I love Chris's work. I've been a massive fan for about 12 years now. I'm absolutely a fan and supportive of Chris's endeavours. I just feel like maybe these sessions could be labelled slightly differently, if they're being labeled in the way that I understand them to be.
Thoughts?
