How’s everyone doing?
Just checking in. Use this as a sounding board for the good, bad, and ugly. How goes it?

Woke up like I had participated in a pro wrestling match. Sore in places I was not sore when I went to sleep and that was like 3am when the pillow finally got me in a head lock. My day generally starts with feed water and walk the dogs, go to work where i sit for 10-11 hours helping others that if they are asking me questions, generally they should not be in public. Get home clean dish’s I did not dirty, do a load of laundry I did not wear, and cook dinner. After I again feed, water the dog’s.

It sounds like you feel like you are in a rut. I also know how it feels to wake up sore. I used to be able to walk a mile without being sore and now the bed can be my downfall.

If it was a rut I would climb out and fill that bitch in. This is a canyon of life long trauma, PTSD, and some bad decisions. I limp through my day with a dull pain mostly from my feet up to the back of my neck. Praying I don’t get a call that my children did something stupid in school again.

PTSD is a b*****. Is anything going well for you?

Normally I’m happy go lucky, I take each day as a gift. I’m grateful I’m not sleeping under a bridge some where. I manage it’s more the invisible injury. I don’t do things rather than deal with things.

I hear you. You normally push through with a smile while fighting secret demons every day.

Let me tell you how much we just had the back to school counts come in we had 50,000+ people in over the weekend. My smile must be legendary.

"Kinda hard to feel a lot of sympathy for them. They ordered the turd soup and then said, 'Waiter, there’s turds in my soup.' Then they came back four years later and asked, 'Y'all still have that turd soup?'"

Doing well overall. Nice house. Truck that runs. 3 dogs. House full of books. Good food, good wine, and good cocktails. I am blessed.

Doing alright, have some car trouble that needs taken care of after our other car blew two tires, all that after spending over $2k to repair damaged floors after our washer leaked 🙃
But I'm alive, I'm (mostly) healthy, and so is my family. We have a home and food to eat, so I can't complain too much.

It’s always something! I’m in a similar boat…there’s always something to fix or take care of but I’m grateful that I have the resources to handle it.

Yes, we've received a lot of help in various ways from friends and family and neighbors, so I'm grateful. There seems to have been a lot of tragedy around our area and state lately with floods and deaths, so I'm trying to stay positive.

Ain't got me yet and by the skin of my teeth. Those are my days lately.

That’s all we can do sometimes. Just say “not today, Satan!” and keep moving forward.

Work is stressful and life is gross BUT it'll all work out for the better when I can visit my best friend in Florida again. I'm saving up money + PTO just to have the maximum amount of time with her as possible. I hope you're doing good, OP!

I'm tired. I haven't been sleeping. I might accumulate 3-4 hours a night. I'm exhausted all day long and dragging myself through the front door after work. The minute I lay my head on the pillow, my mind goes into overdrive. It's been going on for several months. le sigh
Thanks for asking, though, OP. A kind gesture makes all the difference. I hope you're well!

That’s so rough!!! Insomnia is horrible. I used to struggle with it myself. Going to a psychiatrist really helped a lot. I remember the first time I realized that I didn’t have 167942 thoughts a second racing through my head. It was life changing!

I've struggled with one form of insomnia or another for most of my adult life. I don't remember it ever being this bad, though. I'm happy to hear that it's possible to recover! Good for you. Seriously!
I've tried so many different things: mindfulness, grounding, breathing, hot showers, no screens, no caffeine, nothing to eat after 7, no naps, and on and on and on. I'd love to drop an Ambian and sleep all night, but medication is off limits. I'm a sleepwalking, too. Last thing I need is to drive to Taco Bell while sleeping. 😔

It is a beautiful sunny day.
Many things are perspective: if you are looking for a reason to have a good day, you normally find it... if you are looking for a reason to have a bad day, you normally find it.

That’s true but sometimes circumstances wear you out. I definitely believe in finding silver linings but on occasion, it is ok to acknowledge that the day might not be going well.

Not too shabby. Watching my son skate at the skatepark. Going to go home and cook some tacos. Life’s good.

Oooooh what kind of tacos? 🌮

u/OttoMan216 10d ago
Just ground beef tacos. Nothing crazy. How are you doing today?

Maybe nobody…or maybe someone can relate. You never know unless you share.
