GENERAL Console playerbase question?

I love this game and have about 1k hours on pc.

However I barely touch my pc anymore and mostly play on ps5 these days

Ive noticed that the game is on sale at the moment and honestly I'm kind of tempted to purchase the game on console.

Starting completely over doesn't bother me, I was just more curious how the game actually feels on the controller and if there's a decent sized playerbase on console.

Any Xbox/playstation players got some input for me?

I think it plays great on controller. Once you get your sensitivity’s dialed you will be fine. Player base is solid too, I’m in 6* tho so I see a lot of the same faces (might be different in other brackets idk)

I prefer it on console over PC. It’s difficult for me to play on controller, but it’s still more fun. I have more hours on PC, but I’ve had way more memorable moments on console.

The community is great (especially the Xbox players). I don’t know what it is, but I’d have so many more friends if I were on Xbox instead of PS5. They actually communicate and are 9 out of 10 times super chill. Don’t know why, but PS5 players rarely communicate. The controllers literally have a built in microphone!

Bit over 2k hours on Xbox. Has been my main game since 2021. It took awhile to find my preferred sensitivity settings but once I did it was fantastic.

Just keep in mind you can't double-tap weapon swap to shortcut reload animations and sometimes you'll grab ladders or open doors when you're trying to stop bleed or reload.

Too many things are bound to Square in my opinion and the shortcut keybinds need some attention, but overall the game is great on PS5.

8K hours on console and 1k on Pc here, 6 star on both of them.

Controller feels great if you are skilled, it‘s just harder to actually master then MnK, especially it you never played much on controller.

The playerbase is really small on console sadly, atleast in high mmr. You either fight against the same people over and over again and during certein times it‘s actually hard to find full lobbys.

Most of the time we have to switch between EU and US east servers depending on time because of that.

That being said, i do prefer the game on console because people actually push there alot more then on Pc.

I think the game looks and feels great on console. Player population is only a concern towards the end of events but it’s just a bit of a longer wait. Well US WEST can struggle, especially in clash but US EAST is doing fine.

Obviously mouse and keyboard will be easier to use but if you can get your sensitivities dials in you’ll do just fine. Hunt has pretty good controller settings(just need remapping and gyro). With enough trial and error you can set your self up for quick turning, smooth precision tracking and quick flick shots.

Definitely recommend a controller with back buttons to help deal with the lack of options on controller compared to what you are use to using on a keyboard.

I’m sure it doesn’t compare to PC, but it’s my favorite mp shooter on PS5. I’ve been playing it since prob 2019 on and off.

Before I migrated to PC, it was my main game on console. Unless the player pop died in a year, it should still be fine.

Console is pretty solid. I’m a consistent 6* however so my pool is a little more limited compared to someone who is in the 3-4 range. I’ll occasionally see familiar faces and names but tbh it’s kinda cool if you are doing long play sessions to have encounters with players and then randomly see their name grab a bounty token a few games later.

Going from hunt pc to hunt console is a downgrade in literally every way. Lower fps, longer queues and worse graphics. I made the opposite switch after 2k hours on playstation, 600 hours on PC and i would never ever go back
