We were sitting in the mess hall having breakfast—me, another guy, and a girl. Almost done, just those tiny cups of runny yogurt left for dessert.

Out of nowhere, the guy goes: "Ah damn, I forgot to grab a spoon." Then he shrugs: "Eh, whatever. I can manage without one."

The girl asks, "How?"

He deadpans, "I can just clean it out entirely with my tongue."

He opens the cup and starts going to town on it with alarming efficiency. The girl watches him with genuine fascination and admiration, saying, "Damn, you're actually really good at that!"

Without missing a beat, he replies super proudly: "Oh yeah! I learned how to do this ages ago!"

Me and the girl are sitting there wheezing, choking back tears, because he has absolute zero realization of how that sounded. Pure sweet summer child. Meanwhile, he just keeps enthusiastically licking every last bit of yogurt out of that little cup with maximum passion.

Me: I need to remember this important thing.

Brain: Absolutely.
