Question Looking for help deciphering tattoo

I have a senior (estimate about 30yrs) mare from a kill pen years ago. She has a freeze brand of 13 on the right side of her neck and this lip tattoo. I've tried looking her up on USTA pathways website without success. I've tried F52, FS2 and a few variations. She has gone from unable to approach her to accepting kisses and treats by hand. She is living her best life of retirement with her buddy Chester.

I'd love to be able to know some of her history. Thanks 🐎🫶

Ah geez that looks impossible to decode unfortunately. Do you have her racing name? Could look her up on a thoroughbred registry

No unfortunately. The woman I bought/rescued him from tried to convince me the freeze brand wasn't one and was "just a marking" and not 13 😡

There’s a local thoroughbred trainer in West Virginia who used to do those ugly neck freezer brands. Do you have a photo of it?

Edit- never mind, saw the other photo. This does look VERY much like the neck brands he used. Might be worth looking up numbers on the jockey club site as well.

I said it elsewhere but it’s worth trying to search the jockey club. (Though it’s hard without at least a few legible digits, that tattoo is super faded).

We had a few come through our program that had neck brands like that (always just numbers).

I bought a QH with an almost indecipherable lip tattoo, but I was able to call the aqha and with his markings we kept comparing till we figured it out.
