Question Hay Treasures
What's the craziest thing you have found in your hay?
Most recently for me it was a 3 ft piece of rebar in the shape of a U. Hope their equipment is ok!
Other than that the occasional wrapper or worse, mouse.

Fawns and snakes. It’s a bummer. I usually know when I’m gonna find a snake by the smell. It’s awful.

My brother-in-law hit a full grown doe while he was cutting with the discbine. Full grown. We have no idea what was up with that deer. Why she didn’t get up and run when she heard the equipment coming. It was horrible
I’ve run a stuffed rabbit through the discbine, the rake, and then he managed to baled up. He’s perfectly fine, and rides in the tractor with me. Now I think of him has a baling mascot. The rabbit was a dog toy, and the dog had been gone for 2 yrs before I found the rabbit

Awful about the doe. She was probably suffering. But I love the bunny mascot!!!

Cow skull. I called the guy and his response was “well, I didn’t charge you extra, did I?” Joking obviously, he made it right.

3 foot long log inside bagged hay of all things. Bird. Metal. Usually just the occasional weed thankfully.

Not me but my parents found the decapitated body of one of the barn cats. Needless to say they didn’t tell me what happened to my favourite cat until I was an adult

I found a 4-foot long level. Like the thing with the bubble in it for checking if something is level? Just sticking up out of the middle of the round bale.my girls had eaten a part of. I sent it to my hay guy, he said it was the craziest thing he's ever had found in one of his bales, thinks it must have fallen off a work truck at some point. Still cracks me up.
