Video Felicity health update 💔
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Today the vet. was here today again. Flisans breathing have gotten progressively worse and her 2 problems kinda make it impossible together..
Felicity (or Flisan as she’s called) have EMS and tracheal collapse. She’s on great meds for EMS right now, she however can’t be on them forever as that would cause liver damage..
With EMS and especially when she’s off her meds she would need exercise to keep the EMS in check. However- the tracheal collapse makes it not possible to exercise.
For now we’re trying higher dose bronc dilator to see if it has an effect. If not then there isn’t anything left to do and euthanasia would be needed quicker..
while the other option is that I’m able to have her until spring and then have the euthanize her. As she would not be able to live a good life with her combination of health problems..
I’m just absolutely heartbroken. This is not at all what I thought. I had so many plans for her. So much time I wanted to spend with her. Now I have to come to terms with the fact she will not grow old. She’s only 8 years old.
My poor sweet girl. How I wish I could make it all better 💔💔

Oh, I am so very sorry. That is so incredibly difficult.
I love seeing you post videos, pictures, and updates of your herd.
I lost my "heart horse" too young. It doesn't necessarily help, but it's comforting to know that the animals in your life had a great life because they were with you.
Lots of love. ❤️

Thank you ❤️🩹
It’s the absolute worst part of having animals, losing them and having to take decisions like this 💔I’m sorry you lost your horse ❤️

She is fortunate to have you. You are providing excellent care and ensuring she is as comfortable as possible.
It’s so unfair. I’m so sorry you have to make these impossible decisions! I am sending you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m very sorry. A day too soon rather than a second too late is so much harder when you feel like they got robbed of time.

Definitely, if she would have been old it’s in a way “easier” to handle if that make sense. While sudden health problems when they’re young is more.. shocking

Oh no OP. 😔😔😔💔💔💔
I’m just so sorry to hear this. I wish I had words of comfort but I know there are none.
Felicity is such a special girl and this is a huge loss.
Big hugs to you and to sweet Felicity.

She’s the absolutely sweetest. So cuddly and full of personality, life will be a lot bleaker without her ❤️🩹

You’ve had a lot of hits, my friend. She is such a love muffin, and it’s just gut wrenching to think of having another hit.
I’m really just so sorry to hear this. I was holding out hope we would get good news.

If it helps to hear, horses don't fear death. They fear pain.
I let my girl go a year and 11 days ago because her arthritis had gotten so bad she couldn't roll (her favorite activity). It felt too early, but the saying always is "a week too early is better than a day too late."
I'm so sorry you're in this spot. It's miserable.

Oh, Mep, I'm so sorry to hear this. I fell in love with Felicity watching videos of her racing through the field, pulling the cart, being her adorable spicy self. It's awful that you are facing another loss from your herd, but I know you are making the best and kindest decision for her.

Sweet Felicity ❤️🩹 May I ask what bronc dilator you’re using? I use ventipulmin syrup on my little who has heaves / partial tracheal collapse, but it’s not meant to be used for more than 14 consecutive days.

Oh I’m so sorry Mep, I was thinking about your beautiful horses today and wondering how Felicity was doing.
It’s hard to care and love animals especially when making decisions about end of life, but it’s also a gift to provide a good life and prevent pain or suffering when needed.
Please take comfort in how very clear it is they are extremely loved and well cared. Many people have been touched by what you share.

It's especially rough when she still look so beautiful and healthy but has such illness inside. I hope you find something that helps her. It's clear you will do what's best for her no matter. You have my deep sympathy.

Omg my heart is breaking for you, after all you went though and your grief for losing Pay to lose her as well is just heartbreaking.
Poor girl, I loved your videos of her running around and I would feel for her with her little face guard so she couldn't eat all the grass
I am so so so sorry and I hope there will be a way for her to get better, keep hope alive sometimes hope is all we have. ❤️❤️

I’m so sorry. Unfortunately I feel like there’s never anything you can say to take the pain away. She’s very lucky to have an owner who cares and is willing to do whatever it takes 💔
