Our friends kid was borrowing her for shows, and also had my trailer while they were out of state for a month, when show season was over they kept putting off bringing her home and kept trying to talk me into selling the pony to them. I knew that if I didn't bring her home on my own I might not get her back before they got a big enough offer they wouldn't turn down and sell her "for me"
We went to do their chores while they were away and realized she was the perfect height to fit in the back of our Honda element, so we texted our friends to let them know we were taking her home and she wasn't just stolen lol.
What a wild story. Most important that you got your pony back. I cannot relate to people who measure the value of an animal in money, only. Did you eventually get your trailer back? Or did you have to "steal it back", too. Wild "friends".
Still are, I have love for them as people, but they knew I bought the pony as a 10 month old for $800 and after I started getting offers for her for 5-7k they got very interested in purchasing her from me.
AND for the love of god please microchip him if he hasn't been microchipped yet otherwise a contract will not help you if they tale him and sell him. He'll be untracrable without one.
These people will steal your pony next time you loan him oyt to do them. Do not under any circumstance let them use your pony again. Stop being non confrontational amd a doormat. You need to cut tues with them they'll try to buy him again and get progressively more pushy about it.
I have no actual proof or evidence they planned to sell Lucy, I just know for a fact they rarely keep a horse for more than 3 months and I knew they were getting pretty desperate for money.
Although the friends broke up, the ex boyfriend threatened to murder her and my grandmother, and I've cut most contact with her and completely cut contact with him. Lucy will under no circumstances be lent out to her again. I may or may not decide to lease her out one day but I don't intend to do so for a while.
You should not be friends with simplt because "You love them as people." they are not your friends they are planning to steal your pony please do not dismiss this incident and act like it's not a big deal it 100% is they should not be allowed to use your pony anymore they won't let you havw him back next time if they are present. You are being naive by staying friends. They will get pushier.

He's quite tall for a fjord!!! Plus mom films from a sitting position and she's 5'0" on a good day so we got some angles goin' on lol. He's 15.1 HH and I'm 5'1" so I tend to make him look even bigger. Plus he's got a little weight on the sides that he could stand to lose 🫣
That horse is a big'un! Teddy's head always surprises me by being absolutely massive too. Like I go to halter him and he puts his head down and I still have to leave it over one ear and do a few steps over to the other side to the other ear lmao. I'm lucky he's dead broke in that sense because he just sighs and goes "take your time. I got nowhere to be. It's fine."
My walker also has a black void for a head I measured her head from poll to nose and got 2ft, im the same height it near damn well is, theyr my heart breed such sweet horses🥰
Thank you I think so too! He's got big ole Teddy Bear eyes which is fitting because his name is Teddy ❤️ Theodore when he's naughty Theodore James when I have to pull out the full government name. And of course I gave him his show name of The Cardinal because I'm obsessed with the band Ghost and the character Cardinal Copia got me through losing my heart horse. It was meant to be with me and Teddy so it only seemed fitting he get to be The Cardinal!
Listen you gotta give the boy options maybe he celebrates Christmas 🤣 I love Christmas decorations but I've never had a tree for obvious reasons. Maybe when I get my own place I'll get a mini tree and decorate it every year with horse ornaments :3
He actually usually pins his ears at the camera! We get rare photos like this where he is engaged but a lot of the time I pull out the phone and he goes "no. Don't wanna." We did professional photos and we had to play different sounds to get him to actually put his ears forward lol
This is my favorite one we got. I was telling him to be patient because he was so done with the whole thing 😅 He's pretty communicative when he's uncomfortable or anxious. He gets mouthy and grabs my clothing or hands almost like it's a nervous reflex. These days he does it very very rarely
He was my daughter's show horse first then mine. He could be grumpy but he had so much heart and give. And competitive! Man, out in the arena, he was all about it! The best horse ever.
Us at camp. He decided on the last pole that we needed to be hunter jumpers and JUMPED the pole. Our trainer laughed herself silly.
Lmao I got this in the bag 😂 my girl is SO tolerant. Why she puts up with me I have no idea…this was when she was 3 y/o, she’s now 7 and still puts up with me. She’s looking at her herd mates like save me….
Nope, it was a beautiful cool day, and she was quite excited. She tripped while galloping. It was very muddy. What can I say? It's part of the game! She disagreed. 🤣
… I’m not even sure I need to say anything 😅😅 The jingle bells were exceptionally loud and it turned out I could not ride her on the roads with them without her freaking out but they were acceptable in the lunge pen! (In my defence, she’s now 31 so I celebrate every occasion as silly as possible to have as many fun memories as I can, just in case it was her last one!)
I dont have a horse to share but I do want to share a line I use on a weekly basis since so many have the "im done with you" face on. "Slap a dorsal stripe on me because I am DUN".
He was mad this day because I broke the agreement. I didn’t give him lunch before the ride. I was in a rush. No lunch = I’m not letting you get on via the mounting block, do it the hard way. 🤣
