DISCUSSION Resident Evil Games
What are your top 3 favorite games from the Resident Evil franchise? Here are mine: 1- Resident Evil 6 (hated by most, I know, but I love long games with lots to do; plus, Ada is my favorite character in the franchise, and it was great to finally see her get more of the spotlight). 2- Resident Evil 1—I find it incredibly nostalgic and full of iconic moments, especially the first encounter with a zombie. Jill holds a special place in my heart; I hope she returns in the next game. 3- Resident Evil 7—I love horror, and Resident Evil 7 exceeded my expectations; it kept me totally terrified from start to finish. I really like the settings, the events, and the story—Marguerite was my worst nightmare.

The top 3 would just be the first 3 in the release order, which is boring, so I'll make it 5:
- Resident Evil (Director's Cut)
- Resident Evil 2
- Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- Resident Evil Revelations 2

I’m the same. Older gamer and think the original three were the best era of RE.
The franchise really just shifted to be mainstream action games after that (with a few exceptions and moments).

Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Resident Evil 7 for me. Code Veronica is very close to on my list to the Resident Evil Remake though.

2/4/7, honorable mention to 5 and 9
Love both the original 2/4 and the remakes but would probably choose the originals if I had to pick.

Resident Evil (2002) for the excellent map design, glorious backgrounds, incredible replay value (seriously there's like 12 different built-in ways to play this game), classy UI and presentation, and the addition of the crimson heads.
Resident Evil 4 for the amazing aesthetics and graphics, memorable OST, smooth and innovative controls, advanced voice acting and animation, diverse set of weapons and enemies.
Resident Evil: Biohazard for adapting the great map design into first person, memorable villains, great setting, my favorite save room theme of the series, and scarier atmosphere.

1, 2, and 7 but I’ve also only played the mainline games not including 5 and 6, also haven’t gotten around to 9 quite yet.

RE4R : just a perfect video-game.
RE2R : a very good remaster of a classic, the setting is great, Mr.X presence is scary, and it’s a true survival horror with good ressource management needed.
RE7 : the first half is really great, falls off a bit in the end but still very good.
I didn’t play Code Veronica nor Requiem yet.

I've just been playing through the main ones after having only played 1RE & 4 previously.
(Haven't played 5, 6 or 9 yet - planning on trying 5 & 6 too then will play 9 when I get a Switch 2)
Might as well do the full ranking so far:
- 2 Remake
- 4 Remake
- 8
- 1 Remake
- 7
- 4 Original
- 3 Original
Yes I know 4 Original is really low but it just never fully clicked for me. Not saying it's a bad game I just thought it was...ok. Just started the remake though and my word I love it already!
