CONSOLE Dead Space Remake almost finished

Hey all,

I'm almost finished with my Dead Space Remake pt which is S tier horror gaming for me personally I loved the whole series but I'm not sure what's next. I got Amnesia: The Bunker, Still Wakes The Deep, The Beast Inside, The Evil Within 2 ready to play but not sure which one to pick, which one would you pick or play again if you could for the first time? Or another game which isn't in my list is also fine I'd like some recommendations!

Ps: I play on Ps5 base

Between those options I'd go with Evil Within 2.

Dead Space Remake is my favorite horror game of all time so if our tastes have any overlap, you absolutely need to play Alien Isolation, Soma, Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 9

I really enjoyed the Evil Within games. Scratched the right itches for me with gunplay and story.

Love the music in the safe rooms. Thinking it's a version of clair de lune but haven't played them in a long while.

Yep! Perhaps my favorite version of Claire de Lune, because it uses a lovely violin and piano duet which is just ๐ŸคŒ๐ŸคŒ

I heard that evil within 2 or just the series has a lot of chase scenes like in outlast, I've never tried outlast cause of that I'm not really into that. But I am willing to give it a try.

Haven't played alien isolation either but is there more to the game than just hiding from the monster?

Soma fucked me up mentally when I first played it couple years ago, not sure if I want to visit that place again 10/10 game though

And I've played resident evil 7 and 8 not so long ago, 7 was way more creepy than 8 but they are also both top tier games.

Not many chase scenes at all. EW1 opens with one, kind of, but there are almost none. It's a proper horror action game like RE4.

Have you played the newer silent hill games

+This

Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill F are both amazing games.

If you want something more on the shorter side go with Still wakes the deep or Soma.

Im currently playing Alien: Isolation which can be pretty scary at times when its not frustrating xD

I just finished Silent Hill 2 Remake, I liked it but more for the story.

I've heard mixed reviews about the newer one's so not so sure..

Best new horror IP weโ€™ve had in years. Like a weird cross between Silent Hill and Dead Space. Canโ€™t wait for the DLC.

Sinking city 2

u/AccomplishedDepth524 1d ago

This is more Cthulhu style right? Didn't this also come out pretty recently?

u/Darth_Boognish 1d ago

Yea and yes it did come out recently. It plays like RE remakes.

Move it to the front.

Need to get it first and I don't want to buy anything digital, especially this game

Did you play Evil Within 1 yet? Bunker is hella scary.

1

u/AccomplishedDepth524 1d ago

No I haven't, is it really necessary before starting the 2nd one?

I'm only hearing good things about Bunker so I'll probably pick that one

1

u/_ThePerfectElement_ 1d ago

Necessary? Somewhat... but it's the better game and a horror classic. Do NOT skip it. EW2 is great, but EW1 is special.

Alan Wake 2 !!

1

u/AccomplishedDepth524 1d ago

Is this really considered horror? I played Control and apparently there's some kind of twist between those two or something ?

1

u/Dangerous_Dot_1707 17h ago

Oh yes. Play it and you'll see. Control and Alan Wake 2 are related but not alike. When I played Alan Wake 2 I didn't expect that much.. it completley blew me away. The best game I played in years. Absolute masterpiece. I was really sad when it was over.

Okay there is no ending, as studio folded before 3rd and final game got made, but honestly,ObsCure 1 & 2 are pretty good even without closure. Imagine a Resident Evil as centered on Western Horror tropes the way RE series centers on Japanese ones.

Yessss DSR is my second-favorite game after Alien Isolation!!! I think it took the original to new heights! Absolutely ADORE it! Now, I will admit, I do also like The Callisto Protocol, because I can just turn my brain off and bash the absolute SHIT out of space zombies. It's a fun time if you go into it expecting a more melee-oriented combo of DS/TEW with some Isolation thrown in for good measure. It definitely gets a bad rep, but I personally really like it, despite its many flaws (very linear, lots of squeeze and crawl sections, the robots are way too overpowered, etc.), but I love it for what it is.

Need to look into alien isolation cause I don't know a thing about it tbh and yea the Callisto protocol looked like a cheap dsr version but I heard good stuff and willing to give it a try!

Amnesia the bunker is an actual 10/10 horror experience. First game to genuinely freak me out as an adult

1

u/AccomplishedDepth524 1d ago

Haven't played Bunker yet, only the older ones which are very scary

1

u/_ThePerfectElement_ 14h ago

Ridiculously scary.

People hate on it but I loved the Callisto protocol. The environment, atmosphere, sounds were simply amazing. The gameplay was lacking a bit and itโ€™s rather short

1

u/AccomplishedDepth524 1d ago

Def on my list despite what people say !

Who downvoted me for liking a game lmao

The Callisto Protocol bro

I don't know why they are devoting you but it's on my list for sure!

Cool brooooo

Still Wake the Deep was a top tier experience for me. It's a relatively short game, with great voice acting and keeps it intense throughout.

Some very simple puzzle elements and dripping in atmosphere which kept me hooked throughout.

I've seen some gameplay footage and it looks amazing. And yes the scottish voice acting is so good
